Denver Nuggets power forward Paul Millsap has been named the Western Conference NBA Player of the Week for his performances over the Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trailblazers from last week. Joining him in the honors, only on the Eastern Conference side, is none other than the face of the franchise the Nuggets are playing tonight, Kawhi Leonard.

Millsap opened the week by being the key catalyst to the Nuggets blowout victory over the Lakers. He tallied 20 points, 11 rebounds, 2 blocks and a steal while playing only 23 minutes (the Nuggets blew out the Lakers so bad there was no need for the starters in the fourth quarter). Paul followed that up with an outstanding performance at Portland where once again he secured a double double, this time with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Perhaps more impressive on that night was the defense. While Millsap did not block any shots, he had 4 steals to lead the Nuggets defense. It’s really been a couple of weeks now where we’ve seen Millsap’s game go to another level. Awesome to see him get the recognition he deserves and awesome for Nuggets fans to finally get to see what he can do when he’s fully healthy and fully comfortable with the team.
