Nikola Jokic had a career night in the win against Milwaukee

NBA: Milwaukee Bucks at Denver Nuggets Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

Is there a mystical creature more rare than a unicorn? As a matter of fact, there is. His name is Nikola Jokic.

After missing the last three games due to injury, Jokic came back against Milwaukee and put together an incredible performance for his first career triple-double. As usual, Jokic did it all and he made it look so easy as he defied physics with his jaw-dropping passes, grabbed rebounds on both ends of the floor and hit 53.3 percent of his shots, including two three-pointers. He finished the night with a stat line that we will soon grow accustomed to: 20 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists.

Jokic’s performance is the first triple-double for a Denver Nuggets since a certain player who will not be named recorded one in 2013. But if you ask Jokic, the important thing is that the Nuggets held on to win a close game by edging out the Bucks in a team victory, which will always triumph over individual accolades.

As coach Michael Malone said after the game, this will be the first of many triple-doubles for Nikola. Let’s enjoy the moment and embrace that we are witnessing history.
