I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but Will Barton, aka Thrill, aka The People’s Champ is balling right now. Over the last six games, Barton is averaging 16.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. He’s also shooting 54% from the floor including 46.7% from behind the arc.

Barton had a bit of a slump prior to this stretch, possibly due to lingering soreness from a bad ankle injury that he sustained in just the 3rd game of the season. But Barton has shaken off the rust and looks poised to maintain this high level of play, leading the second unit in scoring and closing out games with the starters. Barton was a legitimate sixth man of the year candidate last season and probably the team’s most consistent scorer. Over the last six games, Barton looks like he’s ready to take his game, and this team, to another level.
