We are all witnesses.
It took just three games of Nikola Jokic starting at center for him to have the game of his life. Against Dallas on Monday night, he really took it to the next level by torturing the Mavericks all night long and finishing with a near triple-double. When the offense runs through him, and when he stays out of foul trouble, Jokic turns into an incredibly special player. His final stat line: a career high 27 points on 76.5% shooting, a career high nine assists, and 15 rebounds. Unreal.
Jokic quite literally did it all tonight but more important to him was that the Nuggets took home the victory. When asked about being one assist away from a triple-double, this was his response:
That doesn’t really matter to me. The game is more important than your name.
