NBA Fun Fact Of The Day!
Since Michael Jordan retired in January 1999, every NBA Finals has included either Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal or Tim Duncan, and every Finals has been represented in the West by either L.A., San Antonio or Dallas. Parity? I think not.
In the NBA, you've got NO shot at winning a title unless your best player is a top-5 superstar who's also a future Hall-of-Famer. Keep that in mind Memphis Grizzlies, as you continue to bridge your future on Zach "just got busted again" Randolph.
Ty Lawson on Twitter: "Utah is dumb boring"
"We jumped on them (the Nuggets) early and that team doesn't play well behind. They're more of team that's when they're up, everything is going well,"
-Jared Dudley
Motivation anyone?
"I just don't want to go out there rusty, right into a game situation," Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin.
Ever since the Nuggets trip last week to New York, where Carmelo Anthony was asked about playing in Madison Square Garden, there has been a growing number of Nuggets fans wondering if the star forward would bolt Denver for New York.
Anthony clarified the situation a bit, saying he wasn’t insinuating he would look to play there when his contract expires after the 2011 season.
"Nah," he said. "I was just talking to the media. They asked me ‘How does it feel to play in The Garden?’ And I said ‘Anybody would love to play in Madison Square Garden.’ That’s all I said."
"Realistically, I might not be able to play this year. …I might not be able to play the rest of the year," Martin told Yahoo! Sports. "That’s what I’m realistic about, that I might not be able to. It’s still up in the air. But, I’m going to do all I can to make sure. I’m going to put my best foot forward and work hard every day to make sure I get back, but if it’s not meant to be, then it’s out of my control.
Last night’s Nuggets-Rockets game showed you how important a quality head coach is. The Nuggets were without George Karl (who was receiving cancer treatment), and without him they made a ton of uncharacteristic mistakes you don’t see the Nuggets make. These mistakes ended up costing the Nuggets the game.
kenyon martin will receive platelet rich plasma therapy and, as i tweeted earlier, is expected to return this season/postseason
Ty Lawson doubts he will play tonight, 3/1/2010.
Nuggets rookie guard Ty Lawson suffered a bruised left shoulder Sunday against the Lakers and said he doubts he will play tonight against the Suns in Phoenix.
"I pump-faked Andrew Bynum and jumped into him and got fouled," Lawson said. "He put all his weight on me; 300 pounds is 300 pounds."
"We're still inconsistent at times," Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin said. "If we can lock in and just do the stuff we can do and learn from the mistakes we make, that can go a long way."
