Jimmer Fredette was a regular around the Denver Nuggets this offseason. He could be seen on instagram and twitter in photos with the team working out at Red Rocks and he has a home here in Denver. The flirtation among the two parties culminated with an invite for Fredette to join the Nuggets Summer League team. However, despite a decent showing it appears that the dream of Jimmer in Nuggets blue has died. According to David Pick of Bleacher Report, Fredette has elected to sign with the Shanghai Sharks.

Ultimately, the chances of Fredette ever making the actual roster in Denver were pretty slim. The Nuggets just brought in two first round picks to play shooting guard and already have Emmanuel Mudiay and Jameer Nelson to play point guard. While the shooting prowess and fan fare Fredette brings certainly was attractive, he simply didn’t have the talent to beat out Axel Toupane, JaKarr Sampson and Joffrey Lauvergne, all of whom are battling for the Nuggets’ final roster spot.

Farewell Jimmer, we hardly knew thee!
