According to Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post, Wilson Chandler‘s recovery timetable for his hip strain is now officially unofficial. Basically, its going to be a see how it goes on a day to day basis type of thing. There were signs that Chandler’s injury had the potential to be a lingering one. Earlier in the year he took the time to go see a specialist about the issue, though it seemed like the visit was encouraging as it was determined surgery would not be needed.

However, the move last week to release Erick Green and re-sign Kostas Papanikolaou, may have signaled that Chandler may be in for a longer recovery time. What is additionally discouraging about this recent news is that Chandler has had hip issues in the past, causing him to miss 17 games in the 2008-2009 season. For now Nuggets fans will just have to hope for the best as the team struggles with a myriad of injuries and with the versatility he provides, Chandler’s absence has definitely not gone unnoticed.
