Dempsey: Nate Robinson plans to be back next season, perhaps Darrell Arthur too

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

According to Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post, Nate Robinson plans on returning next season and Darrell Arthur should be back, as well.

In a move that should surprise absolutely no one, Nate Robinson told Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post that he is planning on returning next season, which includes a player option ($2.1 million). In the last off season Robinson signed a two year deal with the Nuggets that included a player option for the second season, due to his recent ACL injury it made Robinson's decision an obvious one.

From Dempsey's article:

"Things happen," Robinson said. "God always has a plan for everybody. So, it's just another obstacle that I've got to hop over and keep pushing. But for me, it's going push me to continue to work hard. You can't take your game for granted. It just shows your character. It shows how hard and how bad you really want it. I'm a player that, I love this game. I'm going to come back strong and ready to play."

Asked if he'd be ready for training camp in the fall, Robinson said, "Yeah, for sure."

Lets face it, when Nate went down in January we all knew he was taking that second year option. So this isn't exactly breaking news. However it does lead one to speculate on how this team will look going in to next season. Both Robinson and Danilo Gallinari should be ready when camp starts. Nuggets will have everyone available (hopefully).

And it's also looking like Darrell Arthur will be back, he of the $3.45 million player option told Dempsey:

"I'm just going to wait until the season is over with and talk to (Nuggets GM) Tim (Connelly) and see what's up and go from there," Arthur said. "But I'm looking forward to coming back here. I like it here. I feel like when we're healthy we have a great team to build with, and I want to be a part of it."

Barring trades, we may finally see the team that Nuggets General Manager Tim Connelly envisioned at the beginning of this last season
