The Nuggets kicked off the upcoming regular season with their first practice in anticipation for Wednesday night’s showdown with the Detroit Pistons at Pepsi Center. The team looked crisp, according to coach Brian Shaw, and much praise was heaped upon rookie center Jusuf Nurkic.

As you will see in this video, Nurkic is an instinctive passer and uses his body well underneath the basket on offense. In one particular play he used the rim nicely as a defense against a potential shot block. Additionally Ty Lawson looked good in practice today, and it seemed like the additional rest he got at the end of the preseason will do him good. The team still has Nate Robinson, Danilo Gallinari, JaVale McGee and J.J. Hickson on minutes restriction, and the Nuggets appear to be preparing for Hickson’s absence at the beginning of the year with Nurkic playing extensively at power forward during the practice time.

Enjoy the video! The song used in this video is called "Rawk and Role" and is, as usually, by yours truly. If you have any requests for the full track let me know.
