The Denver Post’s Christopher Dempsey had an interesting little piece on Ty Lawson after the Nuggets lost to the Utah Jazz. Here is Dempsey’s lead:

No fancy lead-ins here. Just the words of the Nuggets best player who is growing tired of his team simply being average. The Nuggets face Golden State on Wednesday night at Oracle Arena just one game over .500 at 19-18.

Dempsey notes in the article that Ty has been more vocal this season in various aspects as the team’s leader. Lawson took some big steps last season when he challenged his teammates a couple times after he felt the team wasn’t paying enough attention to then coach George Karl.

It has been refreshing to see Lawson stepping up as leader of these Nuggets as Dempsey said it best – he’s the “Nuggets best player” and the guys should listen to him. Will be interesting to see how Denver comes out and plays against the Warriors on Wednesday.
