Happy Friday folks! Just piecing together some random thoughts on this gloomy and rainy day.

-I drove my sister to the airport yesterday around noon. She lives just north of downtown, so we took 270 out to DIA – she was pointing out how high the Platte river was and we were looking on, astonished, at all the places where little ponds were popping up along the way. Waking up this morning and I'm currently looking at my deck at the rain continuing to pour.

Whenever it rains a lot or when stuff just isn't going somebody's way, I often think of this line from Brandon Lee in the 1994 film The Crow, "It can't rain all the time." Let's hope not.

-I have watched The Crow a lot. It was one of my favorite movies as a 12 year-old. I haven't seen it in forever, may need to re-watch it soon. About the only character I can remember is Lee – who died while making the movie in pretty bizarre circumstances (much like his father, Bruce Lee). I always wondered why they chose Brandon to be a "Crow" superhero in the film. Well, I didn't realize how intelligent crows are – did you know they can remember faces? Check out the following article – here.

Nuggets training camp is set to open on October 1st. There are going to be some intense position battles. Lawson has the starting point guard spot locked up, one would think, but who else has their position on lock? The role to backup Lawson will be an interesting one between Nate Robinson and Andre Miller. Can Evan Fournier push Randy Foye for the starting shooting guard spot? Where will Jordan Hamilton play? Can Quincy Miller get into the rotation? The power forward race between Kenneth Faried, Darrell Arthur, and J.J. Hickson will prove to be an interesting one. And what if Timofey Mozgov outplays JaVale McGee in camp? Another one to keep an eye on? If Wilson Chandler performs well as the starting small forward, what will Brian Shaw do when Danilo Gallinari comes back?

Which position battle interests you most?

-The filming in Colorado for the upcoming Fast & Furious 7 is taking place this month (article here):

Pikes Peak will become Hollywood's mountain this month.

That's because Universal Pictures will be on Pikes Peak shooting for "Fast & Furious 7" on location. The studio has requested the accommodation of a revised schedule because of several complex shoots that involve a longer setup time than initially thought.

The film series has earned more than $2.3 billion and has become Universal Studios' biggest franchise of all time. "Fast & Furious 7" is scheduled for release in theaters on July 6, 2014.

Among the actors who could be on the mountain shooting scenes are Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and Dwayne Johnson.

I may need to make my way up to Pikes Peak!

Two former Nuggets are there in Chauncey Billups and Al Harrington. Mozgov was also working out at the IMPACT facility in Las Vegas this summer. Pretty sweet.
