The Nuggets announced that center JaVale McGee is out indefinitely with a stress fracture in his left tibia. The X-ray done this morning revealed the injury, according to Christopher Dempsey of the Denver Post.
How long will McGee be out? The Nuggets are not sure as of yet, but take this snippet from AAFP.org:
Depending on the injury, healing time for stress fractures can vary from four to 12 weeks or longer from the time activity is restricted. Initial treatment should include reducing activity to the level of pain-free functioning. Treatment should begin as soon as the injury is suspected, because delayed treatment has been correlated with prolonged return to activity.

We'll see how long McGee is out, but Timofey Mozgov is the likely man to take his place in the starting lineup with Darrell Arthur likely to see increased minutes at the center spot along with J.J. Hickson. McGee is averaging just 7 points and 3.4 rebounds in 16 minutes per game this season for the Nuggets in what has been a disappointing start for him.
Just what the Nuggets didn't need, more injuries.
