Marc J. Spears, of Yahoo! Sports, has the details on Lawson's new deal:

Nuggets guard Ty Lawson agrees to a four-year, $48 million contract extension, sources tell Yahoo! Sports.
— Marc J. It looks like we can start calling Jeff Morton, Nuggstradamous as he's been talking about $48 million over four-years for a couple days now.

This is great news for the Nuggets and Lawson as the contract extension could have hung an ugly cloud over the Nuggets all season. Lawson will make on average, $12 million per season on his new deal starting in the 2013-14 season and will be locked up with Denver through the 2016-17 season, when he'll be 29 years old.

Masai Ujiri's track record of locking up key players remains intact.

What do you think of this deal?
