Have you ever felt better about our Nuggets?

After watching us crush the Kings, resigning Danilio Gallinari and Kosta Koufos, I honestly can't say I've felt this good about the Nuggets since our Western Conference finals series against the Lakers. Just two K-Mart inbounds (or one less Trevor Ariza) and we would have been over the hump. Even so, right now I feel better than that.

I'm thinking 2nd seed in the West after OKC, and I like our chances against every team in the West except them, who should be a good matchup (even though we are the deeper team).

What do you all think about the state of the Nuggets right now? How much damage can we do in the playoffs?

Don't think so

I’ve been pretty high on this team all season. And they keep exceeding my expectations.

And forget about the stats and the wins and losses, what makes me feel all warm and fuzzy is just what a nice group of players the Nuggets have. I mean, have you seen those pictures on Gallo’s yfrog page of him and his teammates chillin’ on the bus?

Winning is nice. It’s even better when everyone is having fun doing it.

So yeah, I feel pretty good right now. The only time it was close was that 2009 playoff run. That was a pretty good team: CB7, Jones, Melo, Martin, Nene and JR off the bench.

Think this team can be much better though. I’m not joking when I talk about these guys making a championship run. They are that good.

Is your love worth the nausea it could bring?

I agree.

My only concern was youth / gelling, but that seems to be happening at an incredible rate, Harry! If this team can keep a little humility and remain coachable, and still play with confidence, there is no stopping them.

Never

not just that the potential for now and the future is very bright but we play just like how I would want my team to play, win or lose we go hard and play as a team. Plus it seems the team has great chemistry and a bunch of players who want to be here. After the Melo drama of last year this last part is a very big part for me as to why I love this team so much.

Honestly

2008-09 felt like our year. I still get upset thinking of how that ended. But towards the end of that season I felt we were going all the way. With that said I’m about there with this team. I would like to see us play OKC before I get to excited about a deep playoff run.

Yes!!! Feeling quite good about this team.

The CB led team was a high point, but honestly, the current Nugs may already be better, and have not even approached their ceiling. Just by pure record since the Gallo trade, the Nugs are the third best team in the league. Advanced stats support the same thing, that the Nugs are above decent, already scratching on ‘elite team’ territory and nowhere to go but up.

And thanks to Ujiri...

…they look good for the future.

I can't wait till we play OKC

That’s the true measuring stick. If we can beat them I like our chances of going all the way.

probably

But only because I was there, in person, to see them beat Seattle in game 5 during the 1994 playoffs. That team was the youngest in the NBA at the time, became the first 8 to beat a 1, and seemed to have sooooo much promise for the future.

But this team is great. I am enjoying watching them immensely.

STIFF LIST (as of 4/26 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. METTA WORLD PEACE

Metta resorted back to Ron Ron last Sunday by clubbing James Hardenwith an "inadvertent celebratory elbow", landing him a 7-game suspension. Apparently, changing his name didn't prevent NBA commissioner David Stern from overlooking Metta's past behavior problems.

2. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS

The 'Cats are on the verge of securing the worst winning percentage in NBA history. Given that the guy who runs the team - Michael Jordan - had previously drafted Kwame Brown and Adam Morrison, should this really be a shock?

3. OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER
The team that was supposedly built to overcome the lockout-shortened season managed to lose 7 of its last 14 games, ceding the Western Conference's 1-seed to the Spurs in the process. Their reward might be a first round matchup with defending champion Dallas.

4. BILLY HUNTER AND DEREK FISHER
With report after report coming out about NBPA union head Hunter's shady, nepotistic dealings and questions arising about Fisher's own role in dealing with NBA owners behind Hunter's back during the lockout, this off-the-court scandal could prove to be more exciting than the playoffs themselves!

5. STEVE NASH AND THE PHOENIX SUNS
The Suns are on this list for squandering the last few great seasons from Nash. Nash is on this list for his stupidly stubborn loyalty to a franchise as awful as the Suns.
