Should the Nuggets make a deal with the Celtics?

Danny Ainge came out and said he would break up the big 3 from the Celtics for young talent. Should the nuggets make a move for Ray Allen, Pierce or KG. KG would make a defensive impact and might be great off the bench. Allen would give us a big time clutch shooter. Pierce would give us a big time player. If we could get one of these guys but still keep Nene, Ty, AAA and Gallo would you make a deal? Maybe move draft picks, Jordan, sign and trade Chandler, Rudy, Brewer? Thoughts?

I say no

The team we have now is playing really well. We have a lot of upside and everyone is still building chemistry. We are yound, we are fast, we are big and we are deep and we are sitting good in the Cap department. A veteren presence wouldn’t be a bad thing, but not at the cost of what we already have. This team just needs to build on its chemistry and we are going to be scary. Once GK learns how to utilize the bench and fix his rotations we will be a lot better off. I wish GK just used Birdman for home games and tried out K2 and Faried starting. It is too easy to sit them if we aren’t doing well. It will give the bench guys more confidence and help them gel. I say no to adding any of the celtics.

Ray would be a perfect fit! He would spread out the defense and Ty would have much wider lanes to drive and dish. As long as we can keep Nene, Ty and Gallo.

We already have Gallo, AAA, Rudy and Brewer waiting for the dish.

Sorry, those guys don’t shoot like the all time leader in 3’s. Ray Allen is clutch, plus I’m not talking about giving to much to get him. The guy is a 10 time all star.

Love me some Ray Allen

problem is, he would NEVER play for Karl again

The all time leader

in tre’s ain’t the player he use to be. I remember one game in the play offs he shot tre’s like AC (Anthony Carter)
Pierce is Meloish. Sticky hands
Not no but Hell No. If GK gets his rotations together and learn to play K2; Manimal and others the Nuggets will be fine.

Please no!

If you made me cast a vote, it would be for Pierce, since the Nuggets need a guy with proven toughness and smarts who wants the ball to score when it matters. But no way. Younger, please. More years left to fit in with this already gifted, exciting team that’s firing on nearly all cylinders.

No. More. Stickyball.

DEMOGRAPHICS

I view sports from a team-building perspective, which attends to various long-term aspects of team growth that tend to be overlooked by fans, especially if one is in a pre-FA mindset. The basic idea is to build through the draft and not overpay for veteran talent, whio may help in the short term but don’t contribute to the synergism of talent that occurs over a long period of time.

Given that, I’d be reluctant to spend much on one of the Celtic vets since the price would be exorbitant and payout would be very short-lived. I can see us being willing to fill a hole at the offensive rebounder role but none of the big three would fit into the price structure. Better informed fans can list some who would, but candidates would be role players, and won’t pretend to know the NBA’s personnel well enough to suggest anyone. I was ‘kinda’ hoping Faried would take this role in time.

NO

No.

No. No. No. No.

I’ll be very upset. Look, I’m open to trading some Nuggets if it makes the team better. Trust me, one of the things that excites me about Corey Brewer’s play is how it elevates his trade value.

Just not interested in any more old players. No need to get anyone over 30. Period.

Is your love worth the nausea it could bring?

Pierce if he is cheap.

Allen hates GK. KG is an old broken down asshat.

Look how much Andre Miller a savy is helping this team, bring in another like Allen who has a ring and plays solid defense would help take us to another level as long as we keep the core intact. It would be nice to have a real go to guy in the clutch.

Agreed!

I would be willing to consider a Nene, Will Chandler and AAA for Garnet trade today

by newsman35 on Jan 22, 2012 9:07 AM MST reply actions

Are you high? seriously ?? Garnett is over the hill man, five years ago that trade might be ok.

Now days, if we did that trade, we would be just like the Knicks..Our team needs youth, not more vets. We have people like Miller, Big Al, and Gallo (don’t let his short time in the NBA fool you, he was signed in the European leagues when he was 16) these guys have leadership. Nene and AAA are solid players that want to be here. Why trade two huge players that we fought to sign long term contracts with?

I hope this is sarcasm

I really do. I’d expect more intelligence from Nuggets fans if you are seriously willing to pull the trigger on that deal.

No way! We must keep the core intact. Maybe Chandler, Kufcos, Brewer, and trade exceptions for 1 of the big 3. We must keep Nene, Ty and Gallo! KG would make Nene play more physical. Kg of the bench for 12-15 minutes would great especially in the playoffs.

Its almost an equal trade

if you add AAA and Chandlers age together it almost equals K.G’s age… almost.

STIFF LIST (as of 4/26 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. METTA WORLD PEACE

Metta resorted back to Ron Ron last Sunday by clubbing James Hardenwith an "inadvertent celebratory elbow", landing him a 7-game suspension. Apparently, changing his name didn't prevent NBA commissioner David Stern from overlooking Metta's past behavior problems.

2. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS

The 'Cats are on the verge of securing the worst winning percentage in NBA history. Given that the guy who runs the team - Michael Jordan - had previously drafted Kwame Brown and Adam Morrison, should this really be a shock?

3. OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER
The team that was supposedly built to overcome the lockout-shortened season managed to lose 7 of its last 14 games, ceding the Western Conference's 1-seed to the Spurs in the process. Their reward might be a first round matchup with defending champion Dallas.

4. BILLY HUNTER AND DEREK FISHER
With report after report coming out about NBPA union head Hunter's shady, nepotistic dealings and questions arising about Fisher's own role in dealing with NBA owners behind Hunter's back during the lockout, this off-the-court scandal could prove to be more exciting than the playoffs themselves!

5. STEVE NASH AND THE PHOENIX SUNS
The Suns are on this list for squandering the last few great seasons from Nash. Nash is on this list for his stupidly stubborn loyalty to a franchise as awful as the Suns.
