Reaching out to fellow Stiffs
Getting a medical discharge within a month and a half and am looking for a 2 bedroom apartment in the Denver area. I know this has nothing to do with the Nuggets, but most of the people I know with knowledge of the Denver area are on this site. Discharge is for 4 slipped discs in my back. Think I might need a new screen name soon though. Let me know about any places that you know of or any decent jobs. Have a top secret clearance and am fluent in 6 languages. My wife and I appreciate your help and look forward to seeing all you fellow Stiffs soon.
Write respectfully of your SB Nation community and yourself.

Small House
I am currently renting a small house and will be vacating it in about three weeks. It is 3 bedrooms but the 3rd bedroom is very small. The house was built in 1890 but was fixed up to sell last spring. The owners couldn’t sell so they rent it at a pretty reasonable rate. Location is in the Highlands (NW Denver). There is a HUGE garage, which is a big plus.
Not sure if the timing works for you…but if you send me your info I can forward you the landlord contact.
With a Security Clearance you're in business

DU
The DU area has a ton of rentals. In the summer there are tons of vancancies, you could probably get a month to month really cheap. Then you could move again once you get a job so you are close to work. That’s what I did when I moved to Denver.

Thanks guys
and nohoops, if you can get me contact numbers or emails for anywhere you know for work, i would gladly appreciate it. I will try to get ahold of Andrew to see if he knows anything. Back surgery went very well, other than gaining weight. Should be in basketball shape in a month or so, which happens to be when I plan to move.

Jobs
Like a few posters have said there are a lot of businesses in and around Denver that work with the government. So you’re in luck there. Sorry to hear about your medical discharge. As a fellow service member I can’t imagine how hard it must be to adjust to the civilian side (no disrespect). Good luck on the transition. My cousin leaves near the DU campus and they have a lot of places for rent so you might look there.
By the way, is the military giving you medical benefits cause of the back surgery?

Should be getting 100% disability
Transition shouldn’t be too hard. I guess it will be hard sleeping in until 6 or 7 am daily instead of 4am. Where are you stationed?

Ex-Military recruiting firm
Check out Orion International. I too got med sep’d from the navy in february. I called them and had three interviews right off. I got lucky and fell into a civil service job but the folks at Orion were awesome. Check out usajobs.com, clearancejobs.com and contact the local work source office. Also, if you haven’t taken a TAPS class have your command register you for one. Good luck.
