Should we consider replacing Karl at the end of season?

Bring in somebody body like Byron Scott or Bill Laimbeer type?

To those who say bring in Mike Brown now you went down & scraped the bottom of the coaching barrel.

Scott, he's in Cleveland, please don't hold it against him because he has no talent on that team. I would ask that you look at his time with the Nets & Hornets to see what he can do with talent.

Big bad Bill Laimbeer has two NBA titles as a player & three as a coach ... with the Detroit Shock, he coached that team to succeed at the highest level of the WNBA. Before he went there they were all offense, and while he was there they played both offense and defense.

Any other ideas?

If you are going to make a fanpost and would like replies, making it legible would be a good start.

Your standards for "elitist" are unfathomably low

If it’s elitist to insist that something posted in public be written correctly and coherently, we are in some deep shit. And of course we are in deep shit.

Been saying Laimbeer for years

He’s the exacty opposite of Karl and has proven he can win before. I’d also think Lawrence Frank should get some consideration. I bet his time with Boston is definitely making him even more defensive-minded, which we need. One thing’s for sure, if Melo gets traded and we re-up Karl for a rebuilding process I’m gonna be pissed.

Move over Melo, there's a new #15 in town.

we should get Mike Brown

I mean, the cavs went from 65 wins last year to historically awful this year without Brown. Turns out he was an incredible coach!

Ugh.

Bill Laimbier? No thanks.

Larry Brown? Meh, ok. Chauncey wouldn’t object, and he does do pretty good defense, but we’d probably expect a complete fire sale and a complete roster turn over. I’m not sure how well he’d put up with JR, Melo, etc. If we end up rebuilding next year, then maybe.

I am actually a pretty big fan of Byron Scott. He got colossally screwed in NJ despite doing a great job there, and he did very well in NO. He’s saddled with the Cavs now, but I don’t think anyone else could do much better. I also thought maybe Avery Johnson would be a good fit, since I think we need a defensive minded coach.

Ultimately, I don’t know if the risk of changing the team chemistry and our current success is worth changing coaches. Are any of these going to be vast improvements over Karl? Probably not. For now I’m O.K. with the status quo.

I don't understand why everyone is so hot to trot for laimbeer

But I’m not saying he’s a bad idea. If we completely tear down and rebuild with a lot of young players then I think he could be a good fit.

STIFF LIST (as of 4/26 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. METTA WORLD PEACE

Metta resorted back to Ron Ron last Sunday by clubbing James Hardenwith an "inadvertent celebratory elbow", landing him a 7-game suspension. Apparently, changing his name didn't prevent NBA commissioner David Stern from overlooking Metta's past behavior problems.

2. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS

The 'Cats are on the verge of securing the worst winning percentage in NBA history. Given that the guy who runs the team - Michael Jordan - had previously drafted Kwame Brown and Adam Morrison, should this really be a shock?

3. OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER
The team that was supposedly built to overcome the lockout-shortened season managed to lose 7 of its last 14 games, ceding the Western Conference's 1-seed to the Spurs in the process. Their reward might be a first round matchup with defending champion Dallas.

4. BILLY HUNTER AND DEREK FISHER
With report after report coming out about NBPA union head Hunter's shady, nepotistic dealings and questions arising about Fisher's own role in dealing with NBA owners behind Hunter's back during the lockout, this off-the-court scandal could prove to be more exciting than the playoffs themselves!

5. STEVE NASH AND THE PHOENIX SUNS
The Suns are on this list for squandering the last few great seasons from Nash. Nash is on this list for his stupidly stubborn loyalty to a franchise as awful as the Suns.
