Karl is Close to Nene

Karl probably has the closest relationship as anyone in the Nuggets franchise with Nene, and he is “optimistic” Nene (and AAA) is going to re-sign with Denver. With the news that Indiana and Houston may not be making great progress with Nene, things are looking up. Keep in mind, Karl was optimistic Melo was going to re-sign here too, but as we know, Karl and Melo hated each other.

Denver has everything Nene wants and needs – - a coach he loves, a city he and his family love, the commitment to play power forward, a solid young talent base and MONEY. Let’s get this thing done and get the season going!!

Karl is a huge optimist

And this is not 100%, but I have a better feeling about Nene than I do about Melo given that Nene’s options are Houston, Indiana, and Golden State. I think he would stay with us given the other options out there.

Gotta love the haterz. Keep that hate a comin'

Karl comes off very hopeful for the upcoming season.

I’m encouraged by his comment about free agency, Ujiri goin out and getting someone. If that guy turns out to be Thad Young we’re in for exciting games this season.

George can be really sweet sounding

And his enthusiasm is indeed infectious. But he can also be one nasty, sneering bear. Let’s hope he’s mellowing with age, not to mention the obvious brushes with mortality.

Let’s also hope he can adjust his coaching approach to the available personnel. If so—and if the Nuggets get Thaddeus Young—I agree with ILP just above here that we are in for some fun this season.

Lawson/Miller
Afflalo/???Hamilton
Gallo/Young/Hamilton
Nene/Faried/Andersen
Mozgov/Koufos/Andersen

Not bad at all. That’s quite a combination of talent and hard work. Still need another 2, though, IMHO.

No. More. Stickyball.

I LOVE the thought and sound of Nene/Faried/Andersen

If we do indeed sign Nene back this will be a deep position for us

Cool interview

I really like Karl as a person.

1st Question: With all this attention and money (potentially), will Nene start to get calls in the NBA? Isn’t that how th NBA works?

2nd Question: If he starts to get calls, can he hit free throws?

my take

1) Possibly, but doubtful unless he changes his playing style.

2) He has been a 70-72% FT shooter consistently for the last three years. While we always want more, that’s certainly respectable for a big.

that's what Knicks fans said.....

But they also are signing Shane Battier which would be a good glue player for them.

Karl's headache players are gone

So that probably helps for his optimism going into the year, and having gone thru Melodrama last year hopefully he is stronger because of it, as he can focus on mainly basketball now. The Nene situation is out of his hands, so he will prepare with or without, and the front office from what we have seen so far is not likely to make panic moves one way or the other just because media and us fans want them to. Nugs won’t be any better without Nene but can only get so far with him unless he gives more and is put in the proper position.

Have you notice

The Bronco’s don’t have headache players any longer either and are doing very well.
But then to they have a new coach.
Things that make you go ummmmm

My East Coast sources are chattering

About Tyson Chandler signing with the Knicks or thru some sign and trade, CP3 going to NY also, and Amare getting traded out of NY to NO or somewhere, plus Chauncey involved in the trade somehow….stay tuned

by jd80229 on Dec 8, 2011 12:24 PM MST via mobile reply actions

its on ESPN New York

Sorry, can’t copy and paste link from my phone for some reason. Yeah, Amare would be pissed.

I just read it.

Pretty crazy rumors today.

I wouldn’t feel sorry for Amare at all but it would be nuts if the guy that gave NY hope last season and was responsible for recruiting Melo got booted in favor of Chandler and Paul.

His knees are a time bomb

and is a ball hog (As is Melo). Knicks with CP3, Melo, and Chandler are better than Melo, Stat, and Chandler

CP3's knees are in that same boat

But I agree…they will be better w/ CP3 and Chandler.

by Pusherman on Dec 8, 2011 12:45 PM MST up reply actions

same with chandler

although its his whole body not just his knees

by skithebert on Dec 8, 2011 12:54 PM MST up reply actions

did you see the one with the Rockets, Lakers, and Hornets?

Also involving CP3 and only Gasol being the big piece from L.A., which would still allow them to trade Bynum and Odom for Dwight Howard. Crazy!

by jd80229 on Dec 8, 2011 12:44 PM MST via mobile up reply actions

I will lose interest in the NBA (not really, but be seriously seriously pissed)

If the Lakers pull off with CP3 and Dwight to go with Kobe

STIFF LIST (as of 4/26 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. METTA WORLD PEACE

Metta resorted back to Ron Ron last Sunday by clubbing James Hardenwith an "inadvertent celebratory elbow", landing him a 7-game suspension. Apparently, changing his name didn't prevent NBA commissioner David Stern from overlooking Metta's past behavior problems.

2. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS

The 'Cats are on the verge of securing the worst winning percentage in NBA history. Given that the guy who runs the team - Michael Jordan - had previously drafted Kwame Brown and Adam Morrison, should this really be a shock?

3. OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER
The team that was supposedly built to overcome the lockout-shortened season managed to lose 7 of its last 14 games, ceding the Western Conference's 1-seed to the Spurs in the process. Their reward might be a first round matchup with defending champion Dallas.

4. BILLY HUNTER AND DEREK FISHER
With report after report coming out about NBPA union head Hunter's shady, nepotistic dealings and questions arising about Fisher's own role in dealing with NBA owners behind Hunter's back during the lockout, this off-the-court scandal could prove to be more exciting than the playoffs themselves!

5. STEVE NASH AND THE PHOENIX SUNS
The Suns are on this list for squandering the last few great seasons from Nash. Nash is on this list for his stupidly stubborn loyalty to a franchise as awful as the Suns.
