How about trading melo to minny?

Carmelo for Beasley and Telfair

Why The Nuggets do it:

We get a young Forward who can play both the 3 and the 4 and is a shooter (remember the game and how he beasted it against us), and an expiring contract in Telfair giving the Nuggets a lineup of this

PG: Billups/Lawson/Carter/Telfair

SG Afflalo/ Smith/Forbes

SF Beasley/Forbes/Smith/Harrington

PF Martin/Harrington/Andersen/Williams

C Nene/Andersen/Ely

Why Minny does it:

with the young talent on the team IMO Kevin Love and Jonny Flynn they will be at least a 40 win team, and thus melo may like the idea of building a better team with Minny.

and it works on the trade machine

Its a long shot, but worth a try...

I wouldnt mind

Beasley is Melo-lite and I like how much money we save with this trade, but I doubt Minny trades Beasley for Melo. Melo would never stay in minny and beasley is 22, probably gonna win the MIP this year. Melo is way older than the rest of the team, so he would be done by the time Love, Rubio ect. are in their primes and ready to win a championship.

I'd like it

But no way they trade away a key cornerstone of their franchise for just a rental of Melo. That said, Kahn is still Khan last time I checked and he seems to be fine with just giving away potential All-Stars for nothing, so this is something we should check into, especially if we could somehow get some picks.

Maybe they do it if other players are involved.

They are a young building team so i doubt they trade a young player for just a rent of Melo. They are a little weak at the point guard spot until Rubio comes so maybe if the trade included other players that are not Melo they would be more inclined to do the deal. I don’t really know of what the trade would consist of. Maybe using one of the draft picks we will get in the Melo trade packaged together with J.R. or maybe even Bird……I wonder if the FO even really looked in to this. GOOD POST!

Funny thing is Denver could've easily gotten Beasley this summer.... it would've worked out great for all teams.

Miami was just looking to dump him, they wanted to trade him to Toronto for Bosh as part of the sign and trade, but Toronto didn’t want him, then they signed LK, but for both teams better intentions it could’ve been turned into a sign and trade where Beasley goes to Denver and LK to Toronto…

well I think at the time fans were not that worried about Melo not signing

because Beasley is most likely the closest thing in terms of playing like Melo, seriously he plays just like Melo, just not as talented.

Ya, but

Minni got him for a second round pick and a future first rounder. For the that type of talent, that’s a really good price no matter what.

In defense of the Nuggets

There just didn’t seem to be a reason to get him at the point he was traded. Remember, Beasley was traded before a single rumor of Melo wanting a trade. It doesn’t make sense to trade for Beasley when you already inked Harrington and have the wing depth we already have.

If the Melo had come out a few months earlier he wanted a trade, then absolutely I think a move for Beasley could have been done. However, i can’t blame the FO for not trading for him seeing as how we had no clue wanted to out.

STIFF LIST (as of 4/26 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. METTA WORLD PEACE

Metta resorted back to Ron Ron last Sunday by clubbing James Hardenwith an "inadvertent celebratory elbow", landing him a 7-game suspension. Apparently, changing his name didn't prevent NBA commissioner David Stern from overlooking Metta's past behavior problems.

2. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS

The 'Cats are on the verge of securing the worst winning percentage in NBA history. Given that the guy who runs the team - Michael Jordan - had previously drafted Kwame Brown and Adam Morrison, should this really be a shock?

3. OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER
The team that was supposedly built to overcome the lockout-shortened season managed to lose 7 of its last 14 games, ceding the Western Conference's 1-seed to the Spurs in the process. Their reward might be a first round matchup with defending champion Dallas.

4. BILLY HUNTER AND DEREK FISHER
With report after report coming out about NBPA union head Hunter's shady, nepotistic dealings and questions arising about Fisher's own role in dealing with NBA owners behind Hunter's back during the lockout, this off-the-court scandal could prove to be more exciting than the playoffs themselves!

5. STEVE NASH AND THE PHOENIX SUNS
The Suns are on this list for squandering the last few great seasons from Nash. Nash is on this list for his stupidly stubborn loyalty to a franchise as awful as the Suns.
