Grugich "Unlikely" To Return
Source: Hochman's Twitter
Benjamin Nochman: respected Den asst coach tim grgurich "unlikely" to return this yr, source said. grg could still be with team in some capacity
I know that Grg is considered one of the best player developing coaches in the NBA and if he leaves, he will be greatly missed. But if he does stay with the team (though not as an assistant), then it shouldn't change much. The problem I see is, he's the kind of coach you want with young players (like Lawson, JR, Afflalo ) and if there is an impending youth movement, he would've been good to keep.
Write respectfully of your SB Nation community and yourself.

If there's a youth movement there'd be no Grgurich
He’s only here because of Karl and Karl isn’t going to stay for a youth movement.
Similar to Alex Gibbs of the Broncos he does what he wants and leaves when he wants to.
Also, you mis-spelled his name on your fanpost title.

Hire Mike Brown, Josh
I know you are deep into luxury tax for the players, spend some money on the coaching staff as well.
I don’t think Karl cares if there is a youth movement or not, I think he is happy to coach however many days he can.

I apologize ahead of time for this comment; but that's a really stupid statement
I mean really really really really stupid. What basis of knowledge are you regarding this from?
I’m not a fan of Karl’s but he has had a long career and earned a boatload of money. What coaching he’s doing now, right or wrong, is due to a love of the game.
Like I wrote I apologize for making a remark personal… but that really is a stupid statement.
Open a freakin book, learn a little freakin history, understand the subject matter you’re trying to insult and trash.
An idiot on the radio last week made a comment that Rich Jackson of the Denver Broncos shouldn’t be considered for HOF induction simply because the caller never heard of him.
Again, stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid. If you’re going to trash someone, get off your ass learn a little about the person before you trash their legacy
BTW, Rich “Tombstone” Jackson was voted as part of the Sports Illustrated 50th Anniversary All-Star Team.
George Karl over the course of his over 20year career has taken 5 (yes that’s one for each finger on your hand if your hand actually has 5 fingers) down on their luck teams and improved each immediately because of his presence.
Learn the subject matte or shut up!
Again, I apologize to the other posters for my reply… but really!!!

That came out wrong. I am a big supporter of Karl
All I was saying is that Karl is lucky to be alive especially with a stage 4 squamous cell neck carcinoma. I am a medical student and I have never seen someone recover as fast as he has from that specific cancer. I am frankly shocked he is able to speak at all.
No offense taken because that post came out wrong because I wasn’t specific enough.
I still say Karl should be the head coach as long as he can. I am saying hire Brown as an assistant to relieve the tension from Karl a bit. I still think Karl wants to coach even with this youth movement. I think he wants to stay in Denver for the rest of his career (hopefully a long one).
It is hard making comments on a mobile device, I accidentally pressed post too early and it came out way too wrong.
karl wants 1000 nba victories
once he gets that milestone his coaching part of basketball is over. a front office position where he can stay involved in the game and have quality family time would be his 1st option.
pick up a calf every day pretty soon you will be picking up a cow
we're on a mission from god
I dont think he would be a very good GM
And I think he knows it. He knows trading ray allen for payton was a mistake.
And yes, the word
My hand has five fingers, otherwise I wouldn’t want to be operating on people.

Err, we talking about the same Mike Brown from Cleveland?
Because I’d probably rather just select a random member of the Denver Stiffs community to be coach instead.
looks like he's taking the year off at least
but the nuggets approached him

Thanks for that skithebert
At least I know we aren’t trying to be cheap and not try and hire someone. Maybe go after Woodson, or even….gulp JVG as an assistant? What do people think about that?
I think JVG wouldn’t be a good assistant, but you get my drift. We need some defensive guru a la Thibudeau in Boston.
What about
Mike Woodson? Idon’t know much about him, but he did alright with an average Hawks team.
Unless there is some thing I don’t know I think he might be good for the job.
