The internet is an echo chamber
one rumor is started, then said rumor is cited on websites, because the rumor is cited on multiple websites the rumor is deemed true even if no proof is provided, then the rumor is proved false which usually starts a response rumor which then starts the whole process over.

Anyone says it's better for Melo to get away from Denver
Karl – it’s uncertain, that he will coach all year. What about his health?
Kmart – nobody knows, when he will be back after surgery
Bird- same as Kmart
Nene is injured
What chance this team has to be a contender?
Sorry for my english. I write from Poland, but i’m Denver fan :)

Masai needs to be just as focused on Lala as he is on Melo
Plan B: trade Melo to Knicks for Randolph, Gallinari and Curry. $ should work, Knicks get a motivated superstar and I believe Denver will be better for it in 2 years. Also gives Denver some financial space to work with. Knicks will do this to get Melo and still have space to sign someone else next summer.
Well, ANY
Ny deal would need to include a third team and an extra first round pick form NY so they can trade curry away. Say sac wanted an extra 1st, they would just acquire curry and a pick for nothing and that way the nuggets pay less in tax and we dont have curry on our team.
Teams like Nets are offering to give Nuggets TWO 1st round picks (2011 and 2012, not 2014 as Knicks are) that you can keep, besides Talent such as Favors.
How can you compare that with what Knicks have to offer. Knicks are screwed because they have NO 1st round picks. They would first have to trade Randolph just to get a 1st round pick.
Balkman is playing well
He’s gobbling up those rebounds like Kevin Love.
Chauncey is playing real bad and shouldn’t really be starting. Too many pull-up 3 pointers as well. He is 4/19 on 3 pointers and his free-throw shooting hasn’t been great either.
All this depressing talk is giving me an ulcer.

Great job posting the link to the Lisa Johnson story. It would have been easy to disregard this article on the list of links, but I think it is excellent that she gets some ink, even if it is on the Nuggets own web page.

As a Nets fan, I hope it is true that the Melo trade talk will be on hold.
Afterall, I am looking forward to see the regular season begin with the current rosters.
It would be better for all sides to be able to better evaluate the talent that is out there, before making any trade.
Still though, I find it very hard to believe that Melo would agree to any extension, any time soon. Why should he, and why should management expect him to, with the concern for an injury plagued start to the regular season.
The media people are expecting trade talks to start in earnest in a couple of weeks. That is their job – to get as many eyes to watch. Melo can end it all, but just saying that he isn’t making any decision until after the season begins.
I have been a Nuggs fan ever since I can Remember.
My very first autograph by any sports star was by Bill Hanslick. Since that day my love for this team has been unquestionable. Over the years we all as nugget fans have been through more downs than ups. At the cellar of the NBA for more years then i want to count. Then comes Melo with 7 straight playoff appearances and WCF appearance to go with it. He is the biggest and best nugget of all time. ( not only for his game on the court but for his work off it as well) David Thompson, Alex English, Dan Issel the list goes on but at the top is Melo. The FO owes it to the fanbase to do whatever it takes to keep Melo. And we as fans need to back Melo and the Nuggets and not listen to the crap spit out of the talking heads mouths. Just a thought from one die hard fan to another. thanks for your time.

Welcome to Denver Stiffs!
We love having more old-school readers here. Hanzlik has always been a class act and he was one of the first Nuggets I got to meet as a kid, too.

I'd wondered about Aaron Lopez
I always thought he did a great job as the Avs beat writer for the Rocky Mountain News.
There's a place out west where the Powder River rolls off the Bighorn Mountains. It's a land of red walls, blue sky, and clean air, where the eagle glides high above the canyons and makes its nest in the rocks that overlook the valleys where the sagebrush and cottonwoods grow. This is ranch country - has been for more than a hundred years.
Well things have changed some since the early days, but there's still a thread of character and tradition that runs true from one generation to the next. You can see it in the way folks out here set a horse; you can hear it in the way they talk. And when the work's all done, there's nothing they like better than to get together at the one room schoolhouse under the red wall for another down home, homegrown, Western Saturday night.
