Mark Warkentien & Rex Chapman

Mark Warkentien's contract is set to expire next month. Does anyone know what the Nuggets want to do with him? Are they going to sign him to an extension or look for another person to fill his shoes? I would think Denver, a team who has a superstar in Carmelo, would need a strong individual to lead the pack.

What is the status of Rex Chapman? Will he be back?

All this news about Kevin Pritchard going to this team and that team and Danny Ferry going to Portland and New Jersey amounted to nothing. What is the future of the Nuggets front office?

idk if anything happens... there a lot better GMs out there and I think every team has a GM now...

so where would either go?…. wouldn’t be the end of the world if we lost one/both of them b/c Ferry and Pritchard are both better GMs… would be a shame to lose Wark tho… I get the feeling he stays b/c he hasn’t gotten any interest yet…

Stan got lucky, Wark is an under-rated GM (technically VP of something w.e) and a lot of teams should’ve gone after him opposed to these unknowns being signed… so it looks like Stan gets his wish… keeping Wark for cheap, unless he just retires (doubtful)

The mis-perception is that it's either Wark's or Chapman's choice to make

Their contracts are expiring which means Stan doesn’t have to fire them; he just chooses to not extend one or either.

Where did the Wark is under-rated stuff come up. Wark has been around and was one of the parties responsible for the Jail-Blazers. There’s nothing new about Wark; he has a lot of history, some bad and some good.

Gonna start having to call Wark “Teflon-Wark” because the posters give him all of the credit and none of the blame… all with little basis of fact.

The Wark is staying and Stan is lucky chat is just throwing mud against the wall and seeing what sticks. There has been nothing to say whether Stan has any interest, or plan to keep one or the other. The decision will not be Rex’s or Warks… it’s strictly Stan’s call.

Wark Will Stay....Rex is Out

Having witnessed the Harrington signing go down in the lobby of the Four Seasons, Las Vegas, I get the feeling Wark will stay. He, Bearup and Joshie K. worked out the Harrington deal, with no sign of Rex in Vegas. My guess is Wark resigns for a couple of years, and will support Josh while he gets up to speed on running a team.

I hope so..

but I hope Josh becomes more of a Mark Cuban like owner (not an asshole tho) and becomes more vocal and aggressive torwards our team…

but one thing that scares me, the longer this plays out, the worse it looks

Would be nice.

Hate to say that Josh will only be as agressive as Daddy lets him.

But the Spurs have proven you don’t have to throw money out to be successful. You have to be smart.

I’ve always said the Spurs won a title because they drafted Duncan. They won multiple titles because they were smart and architected a team around them. Manu, Parker, Bowen; none of those players were on the team because the Spurs paid more. They were there because the FO was smart and built their team.

It can be done; you just have to be willing to do it right.

Keep Wark, let Chapman go and sign Pritchard as Assistant GM

That would be the way to go. I feel like Pritchard and Wark would make an incredible duo because they both have the brains but Pritchard has the balls. Plus he could take over if Wark ever decides to retire or something.

Ya but I think it would be other way around... just keep Wark as VP of w.e and hire Pritch as GM

but that would cost a lot… would be ideal and prove to Melo we want to improve

Why would Pritchard accept working for Wark when Pritchard has accomplished more?

Pritchard is the man that was brought in to clean up the mess Wark left with the JailBlazers.

If you get Pritchard, there is no reason why Wark is needed in Denver.

Wark out

I posted an article that was written July 15 talking about the Hornets GM opening and in the article by the realgm website it stated the nuggets were not renewing Wark’s contract. There was also an article I believe on ESPN’s website about a week ago stating that Chapman had no interest in the Hornet’s GM opening because he was happy in Denver. I am not sure either is accurate. I do hope ownership figures this front office situation out soon. I am very surprised that they have let this go as long as they have.

Stan's not talking but it seems like both may just drift away

The Nugs have been a 3headed monster (Rex, Wark, Bearup) that have gotten in the way of each other many times. Two contracts expire one person remains…
And for those playing the home version of this game Bearup was personally placed in his role by Stan so who do you think stays if only one remains?

Bearup

When it’s all said and done I would not be surprised to see Bearup be the only one running the show.

STIFF LIST (as of 2/7 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. THE NUGGETS AT HOME
How is it possible that a Nuggets team with this much talent can be 7-5 at home?! Things have gotten so bad that fans are clamoring for J.R. Smith to return.

2. CARMELO ANTHONY
Kobe Bryant plays through any and all ailments. Melo uses any and ailments as an excuse not to play.

3. KEVIN LOVE
Just when the T'Wolves are looking better, Love stomps on Luis Scola and lands himself a two-game suspension.

4. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS
The 'Cats have lost 11 straight and are now 3-21 ... in the Eastern Conference! This is what happens when you let an underwear salesman with a Hitler mustache run your team.

5. MIKE BROWN
Dr. Bunsen Honeydew (Google it!) got himself a one-game suspension for making contact with a referee.
