Good reads, thanks guys
On the Nugs offense next year…
Karl has already made it clear he wants to go small ball, probably because that’s the only option we really have. But I’m not sold Harrington has the startin job quite yet. Just look at the JR situation, we all thought he was going to be the starter 3-4 years ago and he’s still coming off the bench. Offense really won’t be a problem so I could see him starting someone more defense oriented there (Balkman or Bird) and bringing Harrington off the bench. But, that’s just a guess right now. I am really excited to see how many ppg we can average though. Like it or not great offense makes for a great regular season in the NBA.
On Melo’s possible absence killing bball in Denver…
Not convinced of this either, but it was a great article Nate. It’s also a great question too. I firmly believe Ty will emerge into a top 5 PG in this league and if Melo is here when this happens it’s only going to make things better, but if not at least Ty will keep interest alive. Our management has pretty much won me over too. It always sucks losing a star player but when you have a great GM it’s almost just as good.

Wait, what? You’d start Balkman or Birdman over Harrington? You must be crazy. Balkman is too lazy and Birdman will be coming back from TWO surgeries.
Chris Andersen could be in a porno with his 'stache. Too bad he still wouldn't know how to box out.

I never said that's what I would do
I said, Karl surprises often with his lineup choices and I could see it happening again this year. Balkman may have turned a new leaf and Bird might be back in time for the season opener, so you never know.

Well, even if Andersen comes back in time
He won’t be the starter. There’s no way Coach Karl would throw him into the starting lineup, but like you said, you never know.
I’d love to see Balkman actually play though.

Another option
If going small is the goal then one way to do it is start JR smith and make harrington the 6th man. Just a thought and I dunno if it could really work starting melo at the 4. We really have to see how harrington plays with the team first

How can you be most improved if you don't play in the NBA the season before?
I know it can happen and probably has in the past but I’m not convinced.

entirely possible
LK is a legit threat to average 16 and 8 as a starter. He’s kind of a poor man’s Melo, really, which is obviousy a bad fit for the Nuggs.
Count on Kiki...
LK was the smartest draft pick Kiki ever made: a steal at 27th. But in true Kiki style, it turned out to be a lousy fit. we are still paying for his outrageous mismanagement.
I wonder sometimes if we shoudl have kept Jarret Jack instead
