It may not be realistic for the Nuggets to acquire Dirk Nowitzki. But he apparently has decided that he will opt out of the last year in his contract and explore free agency.
He has carried the Mavs throughout his career, and seems to want to stay there...but what could Denver do to snag him? It would probably have to be a sign and trade, but he would be an upgrade over all of our big men, and provide a big time consistent scorer to compliment Melo. Since he brings scoring, we could get rid of JR Smith without worry (although many wouldn't worry anyway).
I don't know what Dallas really needs, but I see no probably shipping Nene, Smith, Balkman, future draft picks (do we even have any?), and maybe more for Nowitzki. The only pieces not worth giving up is Anthony, Lawson, and Billups, in my opinion. I'm curious as to the opinion of much more educated Nuggets fans...
