Possible trade options
So there's not too much to talk about regarding the nuggets these days and not many rumors going around so i thought I would make a post about some possible teams that would want to trade with us. A lot of teams will be looking to change their rosters after unsuccessful seasons last season. Factors such as the draft, free agency or salary cap may benefit a team like Denver in a big way
First of all some of our trade assets
Nene - A lot of people think Nene has high Value. He is seen by most as the third best player on the nuggets and a consistent center and athletic for his size. A lot of teams in need of a Nene type player. would be targeted for his talent
Kenyon Martin - Had a strong season last year but with an unfortunate injury. Strong value to a team for his defense and toughness but mainly is a huge expiring contract
J.R. smith - when he gets going his quick explosive scoring is a handy attribute to have. good value to a team after a scoring sixth man or a three point threat. also has a medium expiring contract. not too many decent Shooting guards in the free agency and not too many players like J.R in the league
Linas Kleiza- Could be a lot of interest amongst teams for arguably the best SF in the euro league. At the Small forward position given plenty of minutes Kleiza could contribute well to a team as the 3rd maybe even 2nd scoring option
Maybe Chris Anderson or Joey Graham but i doubt you would hear much noise about them in trades
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Atlanta- Played well in the regular season although couldn't beat Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic. Due to the fact they have two 6 ft 9 players in the frontcourt. They could use Nene as he is a 6 ft 11 center but his Athleticism would allow them to keep their fast style of play. they need to ship either horford or Smith and although horford was an all star I think Smith is by far the better player and more valuable to the team.
They could alternatively get Kmarts expiring as a way to temporarily rebuild for one year then sign a free agent like jason richardson to replace Joe Johnson. And if they bring back Childress maybe they would like Olympiakos team mate Kleiza too
Charlotte- They have alot of bad contracts. especially in the frontcourt positions. They would mainly want Kmarts expiring contract as Michael jordan would want to reasemble the team to his liking. denver could use Tyson chandler or Tyrus Thomas but other than that I could only see a deal with them involving a third team. they may also be interested in J.R as a bench scorer
Miami - Will need a quality starting center next year and could use nene. It would require a sign and trade with Jermaine O'neal or udonis Haslem and their draft pick. Would complete a serious contending team made of top free agents but would they be able to offer anything that would really improve the Nuggets?
Minnesota- Unlikely to be a contender again next year, could use Nene as a different kind of C/PF to play with Kevin Love. J.R could help them alot and they are interested in Linas Kleiza also.
Oklahoma- Need size upfront desperately and Nene would be a good fit. Denver would need another team involved interested in the expiring contracts of nenad kristic and Nick collison to get anything good out of it though
Sacremento- An abundance of players up front and in need of guards and scorers. J.R could be useful to them or the rights to Kleiza. young Centers Hawes and Thompson would be helpful to The nuggets and could be had at a relatively low price that wouldn't affect the team too much
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Other teams such as New Orleans, L A clippers, or detroit may also be suitable
Feel free to add any teams you think would want to trade with us or just say what you think about the mentioned ones above
Write respectfully of your SB Nation community and yourself.

ya all those destinations help the other team, but no us...
the only good one was Atlanta, but I still wouldn’t trade Nene for Josh Smith
Charlotte: No. Chandler might opt out and Thomas is a RFA. If we want him that bad, I’m sure we can get him with a MLE.
Oklahoma: Hell no. With the addition of Nene they would be a Western Conference powerhouse for years to come. Durant, Westbrook, Green, and Nene would make the Thunder a top 3 seed in the playoffs for the next 5 years.
Sacramento: I don’t see who you would want to trade for. Hawes maybe?
Sacremento might trade the number 5 pick
for smith and kleiza. They could be like washington of this year. they traded their pick for foye and mike miller. would be very talented bigs avaliable at the #5. Kings will have cap space to take on J.R or we could take back a bad contract and the 5
I'm up for that
what contract are we talkin about. Noccioni?

Yeah he wants outta there
Him or Garcia would likely be looked at by Sac to move. It would be worth it for us to get Monroe or cousins
I hope Cousins would be there
Here’s how I would see the draft unraveling
1. Washington- PG John Wall
2. Philadelphia- SF Evan Turner
3. Minnesota- PF Derrick Favors
4. New Jersey- SF Wesley Johnson
5. Sacramento (Denver)- PF/C DeMarcus Cousins

I reckon cousins will go number 5
if not next best fit for denver would be greg monroe. But cousins and kmart would be a vicious frontcourt for denver
Also..
Cousins is huge at 6’11 285 lbs.

For Nene I'm assuming?
I wouldn’t trust Cousins as a starter anyway. No way in hell.
But then again, Kenyon Martin could teach this kid how to be a defender, how to rebound, how to BOX OUT.

As has been said before
I’m almost entirely certain that Kleiza has to come out from under his Euro contract before we can consider doing anything with him.
