If the Nuggets inconsistent play of late shows one thing, it is that they (A) desperately need a healthy Kenyon Martin and (B) they need that second seed to secure home court advantage until the Western Conference Finals. The road to the 2nd Seed takes a critical turn in OKC on Wednesday. If the Nuggets win, they set themselves up to win their remaining home games (Spurs, Lakers and Grizz) and make the last game against Phoenix less critical (how great would it be if the Nuggs could rest their starters against Phoenix?). Having watched the Mavs of late, they have two more losses in them. If the Nuggs lose in OKC, doubts creep in, the SA and Laker games become less winnable and the Phoenix game becomes a must win.
Hate to overstate it, but I think the OKC game is key to the Nuggets playoff success this year (along with a solid contribution from Martin), but the Thunder are playing awesome right now....Let's hope the team goes into the game with a "do or die" mentality, because they are going to need it.
