Trade Talks

Enough with your trade talks..they are ridiculous... Had we been the ones up 3-1 nothing, none of this bull crap would be coming out of your mouth.  Ridiculous.  Last year it was almost the exact same team..LMAO! Dahntay Jones was the only difference.  Sheesh, Oh, and I do NOT believe we should trade J.R.   After reading the fanpost about the utah jazz, Fuck them, thy are terrible, I hope we take em to 7 games and scare the crap out of them.

Also, completely off topic:

lol

I know, I mentioned in the title of my fanpost that it was early to talk about trades, but If you honestly think Nene is the answer for the Nuggets I would love to hear why…

go to youtube

and search nene. you ill find tons of highlight reels. do the same for j.r….its just, we simply cant let them go. the peices are all here..

Okay,

Now watch a couple games, watch closesly, watch even closer, don’t watch the ball, watch Nene and tell me what he does.. He’s either bitching at a ref or getting shoved around or standing still. JR, I love and would not want to trade unless we could get a player like Chris Bosh etc.

AND

I know JR for Bosh would never happen so don’t start ripping me on that… I’m saying in a package deal that keeps Melo, AAA and Ty.

you give way too much cred to afflalo

So tired of this site loving the guy to death. Nugs need a tough, dirty defender at the 2. I love afflalo’s desire to play hard but finesse d does not get it done in the playoffs. I would much rather dahntey jones or a player like him. Nugs need jr way more than afflalo however jr needs to start shooting the rock again whenever he feels like it. Ad need to take the reins off jr or we may never see the xfactor again.

by Gasus on Apr 26, 2010 11:02 PM MDT via mobile up reply actions

I tend to agree with you...

But I am definitely smoking the AAA pipe.

He doesn’t always have big nights on offense and his defense isn’t brutal and exciting like Jones or Artest, but AAA knows how to stay in front of his man and hit the occasional open 3.

I think JR should shoot all the 3s he wants. But only if they are smart, set 3s. And he just doesn’t do that enough.

Really? You'd rather have Dahntay?

AKA incredibly inefficient offensive player compared to Afflalo? I don’t remember too many corner 3’s Dahntay hit last year. Afflalo hit plenty of those this year.

And Dahntay was not a great defender. He tripped people, he got into foul trouble quickly. He was just not as good as Afflalo, there’s no question.

The only cred I have given AAA

is the fact i said i wouldn’t want to trade him simply because he is so cheap for such a good talent… I mean he doesn’t have the bad boy swagger like D Jones has, but I’ll take every part of his game other than that over D Jones anyday.

Ugh, prisoners of the moment

Like JR said, what would the Lakers be without Phil Jackson? I’m guessing pretty damn lost. But I’m almost 100% positive nobody on the Lakers would be going around and saying “Trade Kobe! Trade Gasol!” Obviously it’s a little different situation wise, but Nene is a damn good basketball player who just needs some guidance at times, just like JR, just like Melo and just like K-Mart and Chauncey even.

It's absolutely not a "prisoner of the moment" situation

Nene has been like this all year. 1 in every 5 or 6 games he will play to his potentiol. He did in game 1 of the playoff series and where has he been in 2 3 and 4? NO WHERE. If you want to win, get players who show up to every game, not only once a week. This has been happening ever since Nene got the startin spot when Camby left and I don’t see it changing anytime soon.

by Garrett Olsen on Apr 26, 2010 8:09 PM MDT up reply actions

Who are we going to get better than him then?

Give me some names. And consider this, Nene is still playing out of his position AND is young and can develope a lot more. I think we need to relax and give management some time to work around this talented group of guys. Once Martin’s contract expires after next year we will have some cap space to sign a real C and who knows, maybe Nene will get in full on beast mode after than instead of just half ass beast mode.

Okay, but your contradicting yourself

Idk if it was in this post or the fan post i wrote, but you said trading for a rookie would be bad because our time to win is now. Then in this post you say wait for Nene to grow to his potentiol?

I think there are a few guys out there that could be had and that are better than Nene. Kamen, M Gasol, Gortat+ Reddik…

Nene is not young!

7 years in the league my man, not young, if he was going to be “in full beast mode” he would have done it by now. More on this in a fanpost later

27 certainly isn't old by any means either

Your right about the beast mode thing, but I would still like to see him play alongside a guy who is a bona-fide rebounding machine so that he could focus more on his offense.

Can't trade Chauncey

CB hasn’t gotten enough criticism for how truly bad he’s been in the past 2 months, but getting rid of him would be crazy. Chauncey stays. Just need to completely re-work the front line and the defense. We need some tough defenders at the Center and PF positions

sign and trade

JR + Nene = BOSH

DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT

JUST DO IT

(You think Melo is gonna stick around for another wait and see year??)

by InboundingLobPass on Apr 26, 2010 9:51 PM MDT via mobile reply actions

I think I'd rather see K-Mart go

His expiring contract will be attractive.

But I would be OK with this. Melo + a superstar big + our talented backcourt would be great next year.

I do want to see Billups and Lawson split the minutes, though. I love Billups. Serious, that guy is a hero. But I don’t think he is aging well and I think limiting his minutes are important. Let him play slow, grind-it-out offense…. But let Lawson come in and change things around.

+ ten million

Either nene and jr or kmart for bosh. Who gives a fuck about the bench when u have a 20 point per game guy and two 30 point per game guys in your starting five. I think either of these trades would make denver the favorite for the title every year for the next 5 years. All of us need to colectively pray that this happens. We would be fans of a dynasty for once.

by Gasus on Apr 26, 2010 11:10 PM MDT via mobile up reply actions

People seem to forget Kenyon's expiring contract

I have a feeling that will be really helpful for us next year. I mean really helpful. Like we dupe a bad team to give us a good big man and we get KMart back a la Zydrunas Ilgauskas. So just relax. I hope Wark stays though that is the thing I am more interested in seeing.

by JR15 on Apr 26, 2010 11:32 PM MDT reply actions

I just want to point out...

…. that I didn’t forget about K-Mart’s expiring contract….

But I don’t think Denver could get him back as easy as Cleveland got Ilgauskas back. But that would be bad ass.

kmart's

expiring would only be good if we were in contention again next year, similar to mavs right? i mean if we pick up a solid 3rd big man this offseason (maybe scola if possible, bird becomes the 4th), we’re better off letting kmart’s contract expire unless we really find someone we like? like even though the mavs got butler and haywood, haywood is a FA after this season and they owe butler $10M & Stevenson $4M next season. so they either have to sign another big or re-sign haywood, which will cost more money. altho they can do something similar at the deadline next season with either butler, dampier and/or stevenson. im sure cuban will spend the money.

say bosh, for some reason ends up staying with toronto next season. in 2011/12, when kmart and jrs contract comes off the books, we have the money to now sign someone we like, to pair w/ carmelo (assuming he signs an extension) for another 3-4 year run….bosh, marc gasol or zach randolph, dunno if he’ll stay 20/10 for another 4 years tho. plus if nene opts for his option, we have an expiring $11M contract that we can move at the deadline

but i guess there wont be much FA in 2011/12, so it might be best to get whatever we can for kmarts contract at the deadline next year. i guess either way, we have to room to instantly rebuild for the 2011/12 season.

dont understand all this cap/roster/salary/trade stuff, so someone school me on it once the season is over. hopefully not for awhile.

I am glad the fans aren't GMs

Or we would have a shitty team that looks good on paper. I remember when Ginobili came into the league at the age of 26 and he was really flashy, shot the three a lot and was turnover prone. He sometimes had good games but was very inconsistent… Hmm sounds like someone on the Nuggets. I think someone named Popovich straightened said Ginobili.
What I am saying is be patient with the guy every fan seems to hate. If we get the right player development personnel in the off-season people may eat their word about our 24 yr old player.
I mean if you want to trade JR who are you going to get? 2 2nd round draft picks and a Tuna sandwich. Is it really worth it to then see JR light up the Nuggets for 40 + points a game and then regret that we traded him like Chicago. Look at them they can’t get any offensive production at all.

by JR15 on Apr 26, 2010 11:39 PM MDT up reply actions

Lol, jeez

You people are crazy. One minute when things are going right it’s “JR (or Nene) is a crucial part of this team,” then next minute when things aren’t going our way it’s “think of every possible trade scenario you can, let’s have a fire sale asap!” I know it’s the nature of being a dedicated sports fan but come on, there is one problem right now and one problem only, and that is the fact that we are missing our head coach and have a replacement who has no freakin clue what’s going on. The players are responding negatively to the change and clearly want anybody except AD to coach right now.

its only worth trading nene, kmart and/or JR

if we are getting a perennial all-star in return (ie Bosh). otherwise it would be foolish. if we don’t go that route we need to sign some big who can rebound and play defense.

STIFF LIST (as of 4/26 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. METTA WORLD PEACE

Metta resorted back to Ron Ron last Sunday by clubbing James Hardenwith an "inadvertent celebratory elbow", landing him a 7-game suspension. Apparently, changing his name didn't prevent NBA commissioner David Stern from overlooking Metta's past behavior problems.

2. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS

The 'Cats are on the verge of securing the worst winning percentage in NBA history. Given that the guy who runs the team - Michael Jordan - had previously drafted Kwame Brown and Adam Morrison, should this really be a shock?

3. OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER
The team that was supposedly built to overcome the lockout-shortened season managed to lose 7 of its last 14 games, ceding the Western Conference's 1-seed to the Spurs in the process. Their reward might be a first round matchup with defending champion Dallas.

4. BILLY HUNTER AND DEREK FISHER
With report after report coming out about NBPA union head Hunter's shady, nepotistic dealings and questions arising about Fisher's own role in dealing with NBA owners behind Hunter's back during the lockout, this off-the-court scandal could prove to be more exciting than the playoffs themselves!

5. STEVE NASH AND THE PHOENIX SUNS
The Suns are on this list for squandering the last few great seasons from Nash. Nash is on this list for his stupidly stubborn loyalty to a franchise as awful as the Suns.
