The Second Annual STIFFY Awards...

Gilbert_mediumBack by popular demand, the Stiffy Awards are here to take our minds off a tough playoff series against Utah.  For a few hours at least, anyway.

Star-divide

Gilbert2_mediumLEAST VALUABLE PLAYER: GILBERT ARENAS

It was tempting to give this award to Allen Iverson for the second consecutive season, but it's hard to top Agent Zero's 2009-10 "season."  Long before Arenas officially sank the Wizards season by bringing guns into the team locker room as an alleged joke to settle a gambling debt with Javaris Crittenton, Arenas had already ruined the Wizards season by showing up at training camp with a foul attitude and unwillingness to play within new coach Flip Saunders system.  Then there was the gun incident, Arenas' poor attempt at humor by mimicking gun play with his teammates, the lecture inside David Stern's office and the indefinite suspension.  Not bad for a guy making $16.2 million this season and due to make $22.3 million in 2013-14.

Runners Up: Allen Iverson (for bailing on two franchises - both of which played better without him - and all but guaranteeing that we'll never see him play in an NBA game again), Rasheed Wallace (just read this), Richard Jefferson, Tracy McGrady and Josh Howard

Del-harris-kiki-vandeweghe-nets-1485352f41bcca24_large_mediumWORST COACH OF THE YEAR: KIKI VANDEWEGHE

After sandbagging Nets head coach Lawrence Frank with a shoddy, injury-riddled roster, former Nuggets GM Kiki Vandeweghe took over the coaching reigns and did a worse job considering the players were relatively healthy on Kiki's watch.  Even his hand-picked assistant coach, Del Harris, wouldn't stick around until the end of the season to see how this disaster would play out (Harris resigned after two months for "personal reasons").  Before catching a few teams napping towards season's end, Vandeweghe's Nets flirted with setting the NBA's all-time record for fewest wins in an NBA season.  Kiki did realize his team plays in the Eastern Conference, right?

Runners Up: Don Nelson, Kurt Rambis and Eddie Jordan.

20090522_david_kahn_33_mediumWORST EXECUTIVE OF THE YEAR: DAVID KAHN

In the wake of Kevin McHale's final years running the Timberwolves, the franchise could only go up.  Or so you'd think.  Thanks to David Kahn, things have managed to get surprisingly worse.  As Bill Simmons pointed out the other day, when you draft two point guards early in the 2009 NBA Draft and neither one of them is named Stephen Curry or Brandon Jennings, you're doing something wrong.  Making matters worse for Kahn and the Timberwolves, Kahn was unable to lock down draftee Ricky Rubio to a contract offer before the draft making it likely that the Wolves' fifth overall pick from last year's draft could be completely wasted.  To top things off, Kahn was arrogant and prickly with the press all season long, leaving him with no one rooting for his success.  Enjoy the "Wrath of Kahn", T'Wolves fans.

Runners Up: Ernie Grunfeld, Joe Dumars and Larry Bird.

Thabeet_mediumWORST ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: HASHEEM THABEET

I actually feel bad for Thabeet, who has a great life story and an equally great attitude, but he's already threatening to be in Michael Olowokandi / Kwame Brown / Darko Milicic territory after becoming the highest pick ever to be demoted to the D-League.  Thabeet is further proof of why the NBA needs a more stable farm system, as he clearly needs time to develop.  They say you can't coach height, but what happens when that height comes with two slow left feet and no basketball instincts?

Runners Up: Jordan Hill, Tyler Hansbrough and Blake Griffin.

Chris-cohan_mediumLIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD: CHRIS COHAN

Since taking over as owner of the Golden State Warriors in 1995, the Warriors have had just two winning seasons, have made just one playoff appearance (which surprisingly resulted in biggest upset in NBA playoff history) and have a winning percentage of .374.  This stretch of ineptitude makes the Nuggets stretch from 1990 through 2002 look tame.  It's a good thing Cohan is receiving his Stiffy Award now, because rumors are swirling that the team is for sale and Oracle founder Larry Ellison is on deck to buy it.  As a Nuggets fan, Cohan will surely be missed.  It's nice to have at least three guaranteed wins per season to count on.

Can't really disagree on any of these awards...

Glad Kiki doesn’t work for the Nuggets anymore…we almost ended up with Darko.

Also, Kahn was absolutely horrible…

D-Will

After Melo’s “Flagrant 1”

by Joelsopinion on Apr 21, 2010 3:34 PM MDT up reply actions

Yeah, he "acted" like Melo pulled him out of the air by his arm

If someone did that to Carmelo, I wonder how he would “act?” He would probably act like he was in pain.

by Bouncy Phillips on Apr 22, 2010 9:52 AM MDT up reply actions

Whatever man

Melo fouled in an effort stop the shot, the way you’re supposed to foul IMO. Deron then proceeded to roll on the floor in pain, “acting” causing a personal foul to be upgraded to a flagrant 1. melo did not make contact above the shoulder (definition of a flag1) It was Williams acting job that upgraded the foul.

You’re a jass fan so now I’m done with you. good luck in game 3, bye bye.

by Joelsopinion on Apr 22, 2010 9:59 AM MDT up reply actions

OK.

You convinced me. Good luck to you as well.

Actually, screw that, you are just Wrong. According to nba.com, a flagrant 1 is "A flagrant 1 is unnecessary contact. This is usually when a defensive player swings and makes hard contact with the offensive player or makes hard contact and then follows through. " See (http://www.nba.com/features/misunderstoodrules_051128.html).

Carmelo grabbed Deron’s arm, and then followed through with a downward motion, pulling Deron to the ground. It’s not up for debate.

I like Carmelo a lot, and he felt bad about his hard foul, so fine. But to call it a flop is just ridiculous.

by Bouncy Phillips on Apr 22, 2010 10:22 AM MDT up reply actions

Stop being a cry baby Bouncy

Melo tried to help alleviate his fall by extending his arm. This is the playoffs too for gods sake! Stop with the pussy attitude already. Your boy turned a regular hard playoff foul into a Flagrant with his acting and you know it. Thanks to the refs hair trigger on the foul calling and there needing to be a makeup call for your asshole coach getting a T earlier, Melo had to get screwed on that one to even things out.

I hate Utah, the Jazz, Jerry Sloan, Deron Williams and everything that state has to offer, especially the nut job religion that runs it, which brings systemic racism, sexism and all sorts of other dumb shit with it. I’d rather live in Baghdad than Salt Lake, and yeah, I’ve been to Salt Lake, I’m not just talking shit without having set foot there or anything. It’s beautiful country, but your cult like running of the state irks me like no other and Colorado is just as beautiful. I can do without anything Utah has to offer including whining posts.

by stiffy on Apr 22, 2010 10:40 AM MDT up reply actions

As for the flagrant, just read the definition. Not being a cry baby.

As for your second paragraph, your hatred of everything related to Utah calls into question your ability to make sound judgment regarding Utah Jazz-related information. Where did that spew in your 2nd paragraph come from? When did I ever bring Utah the state into this. I live in Colorado. You need to separate the LDS church, and its cultural problems, from the geographic area to your west. I’m no Mormon, furthest thing from it in fact, so please spew at someone else. I was talking about basketball. You’re being a dick.

by Bouncy Phillips on Apr 22, 2010 10:56 AM MDT up reply actions

Andrew Feinstein, in his observations from the game, which he attended: “…Melo did flagrantly foul Williams – right in front of us – but felt visibly remorseful while Williams writhed in pain afterward.”

by Bouncy Phillips on Apr 22, 2010 11:02 AM MDT up reply actions

Andrew aint me

Melo intentionally fouled Willims to stop the shot from going in. If the definition you gave above is to be taken literally, than any team that fouls to stop the clock “A flagrant 1 is unnecessary contact.” should be given a flagrant.

Williams played the refs and i don’t agree with that tactic. This is basketball not chess. It’s a contact sport. If you can’t take the contact then don’t play.

I was sincere the first time I offered good luck to your team. if you wish to throw the olive branch back in face then so be it. Just don’t be blind to what actually happened on that play. Melo was the first one over to help him up and Williams curled into a ball and refused his hand. So F Williams and his cry baby tactics. I hope he Jazz crumble and losed the next 3 so we don’t have to go through all of your “my feelings are hurt” posts.

by Joelsopinion on Apr 22, 2010 12:23 PM MDT up reply actions

I don't care where you're from

It wasn’t an attack on you to call Mormonism and the state of Utah stupid. It WAS an attack though to call you a crybaby, in which I should have actually called you an apologist, which you’re being. I’m not going to form an opinion on you based on your stance here though, you might be a good guy who’s just hardlining this one a little too much for Nuggets fans tastes, whatever. But I do have an opinion regarding the Jazz and Utah obviously. And refs… Basketball involves a lot of interpretation of the game situation and the rulebook on the fly. And the refs do an extremely shitty interpretation when the Nuggets are involved. I can’t continue to think it’s coincidence.

Williams was back on the floor doing crossovers and all that shit very soon after making a soccer-esque bitchy little roll around on the floor and refusing Melos gesture to help him up. Get up and be a man Williams. Again…. IT’S THE PLAYOFFS! That’s one thing I’ll give our team credit for, you don’t see a lot of that little girl style of play from us. We may complain to the refs, but we don’t flop like bitches and roll around holding ankles to get calls, waddle into the locker room for added effect and then come back out like nothing happened. I’m sure D Will will be the target of the Spurs when he hits the market.

You guys are so nice around here.

Funny how any statement contrary to your opinions turns into a personal tirade, instead of debating the evidence and staying on topic. I accept your interpretation of the foul. But it follows that if the Jazz start pulling Melo down to the ground on his drives, it shouldn’t be a flagrant foul.

As for DWill continuing to play, what is your point? I seem to remember Carmelo playing fine shortly after taking a nap in the paint against OKC, so clearly superstars can recover quickly from problems from certain injuries.

I’m not attacking you guys, but you sure are defensive.

by Bouncy Phillips on Apr 22, 2010 2:13 PM MDT up reply actions

I hate to say it

But if you guys really wanted to end this conversation, you wouldn’t end it by saying "You’re a jass fan so now I’m done with you. " or “Stop being a cry baby Bouncy.” By saying those, you clearly wanted to continue arguing. That was not an olive branch.

Also, this isn’t directed toward you, but the anti-Mormon anti-Utah attacks are getting old. Yeah, we all know the state of Utah has many Mormons. Great. Shut up.

Haha…. you shut up UH!

Phillips, as I said in my last post I incorrectly called you a crybaby. But you’re rationalizing something to people that you know you’re not going to get a lot of similar sentiment from here on a Nuggets blog, and sports writers in general seem to agree with us. And further, just FYI, if you look at my posting history I’m very much FOR other teams fans coming on here for debate. I’ve defended Laker fans, Blazer fans right to post here, etc… But I will not go along any explanation of the refs in that last game as anything less than atrocious. Going forward, I will set my thoughts on the beautiful state of Utah aside for now, and focus on the refereeing in that last game. Fair? Sorry I couldn’t resist the crack at the state stuck in a Hair Bun Time Machine. You’re right, it has nothing to do with anything except aiding in my disdain for the NBA team that hails from it.

Post away Bouncy… be a Mormon, apologize for crap calls… whatever you want to do man… it’s a free country indeed.

by NuggetsLife on Apr 21, 2010 3:18 PM MDT up reply actions

Kind of...

Parker has been about what we expected…he shot pretty poorly last year in Toronto and people thought he was over the hill. Really what happened was the AST% on his shots was less and so he had to create more of his own 3’s and was less efficient (it’s a lot easier to setup in the corner for a 3 wide open than have to take a running 3). His defense was still top notch.

Although, I think we ended up with the way better player, and a huge steal in Afflalo (I had no idea who he was before we got him), then we got him and my buddy and I looked at him and he was a HUGE upgrade over DJ and seemed slightly worse than Parker. Turns out hes been one of the best shooting guards in the league this year both for his defense and because he shoots the 3 so efficiently.

We really wanted Gortat but weren’t aware he’d be such a hot commodity last offseason. The second option being Bass and Milsap as a 4th big (not quite ideal since they don’t rebound nearly as well as Gortat, but still pretty good if they’re your 4th big and you get them cheaply). A frontline of Nene, Kmart, and Bird with Bass providing 10-15 minutes off the bench would have made us a contender. I think hes been worse this year rebounding than in past years (I’m not sure, you’d have to confirm this somewhere)? I think a lot of this is playing with Howard and Gortat, two guys who are at the top of the league in rebounding rate. If you can get a guy who can get a decent amount of boards, and play some minutes efficiently for cheap, I think that’s a pretty good choice.

I think Milsap would have been good too, and, the ideal situation was if we picked up Blair with our 2nd round pick. A guy who can play decent minutes, get a bunch of boards, and you only have to pay him rookie money.

by chantech on Apr 21, 2010 3:20 PM MDT up reply actions

Blair

I still scratch my head at the decision to pass on Blair and draft a pg who they traded for a bag of beans— and not even magic ones. They already had Lawson in hand when they passed on Blair if I’m not mistaken. Why pass on Blair – undersized, didn’t figure into an “uptempo” playing style, injuries, character? So what. It’s a second round pick. How many offensive rebounds did the Nugs 2nd round bag of beans pull down this year?

by chiy on Apr 22, 2010 9:35 PM MDT up reply actions

I wanted Parker too

Both Bass and Gortat got overpaid out of our price range. We actually had a great offseason getting AAA and Ty, we struggled all year with trusting them and getting them minutes. It seems like it’s taken a whole year to get them settled into the team, which is unacceptable.

The big mistakes of the offseason were trading the first round pick for nothing, and signing Malik Allen and Anthony Carter. We needed a banger behind Bird and Kenyon when you consider all of the injuries, and we got the exact opposite. Malik Allen was such a disaster it made Johan Petro look like a genius move. What I am really pissed about is being an a position to get no help in the draft for years to come

twitter.com/skitalicious

by runningdonut on Apr 21, 2010 5:28 PM MDT up reply actions

I agree with this completely

I didn’t know that other teams knew about Gortat. For what they got paid, I feel like we made the best possible moves we could have this offseason. We definitely needed a banger behind Bird and KMart…I think we’ll address that this offseason. I wouldn’t mind Petro again as long as he improves this offseason? He seems better than earlier this year…

You mean trading the 2nd round pick for nothing? I hate the AC resigning as much as the next guy, but what do we do if Lawson gets injured halfway through the year??? What? You’re saying we could have just signed AC off waivers since no one would have claimed him or we could have played JR at the point. Oh, yeah, why did we resign AC again?

I’ve heard the “6th foul” joke going around. What’s the context?

by Bouncy Phillips on Apr 22, 2010 9:54 AM MDT up reply actions

From the Nugs played the Knicks

David Lee (I think it was) mouthed “that’s my sixth foul” when Bill Spooner (again, I seem to remember it was him) was going to make a call on him. Call ended up going the other way.

by Artimus Mangilord on Apr 22, 2010 11:44 AM MDT up reply actions

David Lee charged on JR late in the Knicks game

A referee called the clear foul of a charge and the game was really close. After he whistled and motioned it the ref went towards the scoring table and was confronted by Spooner. They then talked for about 5 seconds and Lee came over to the huddle and yelled “that’s my sixth foul.” As soon as Lee got done saying that Spooner’s fat, corrupt ass, blew his whistle and made the motion for a blocking call. All in a good days work for Bill Spooner.

Kahn is a complete joke

I love that you mentioned Simmons quote about taking 2 PGs and niether of them being Curry or Jennings, then to top it off he trades away Ty Lawson! You really can’t do much worse of a job drafting than Kahn did. I think Thabeet is just a victim of bad management and nothing more than that, just like Darko and The Kandi man. It’s sad when your 21 year old, average NBA fan knows more about drafting than you do and your a GM. Still, Thabeet played very well when he came back from the D-League and he’s going to be a hell of a lot better than the 2 previous busts mentioned.

"Jive turkey is a little over the line my man!"

"I'm kinda grumpy today, dude. I didn't get a lot of sleep last night. I was having those dreams again. Ya know, how it's just me in a castle and I gotta fight, like, a thousand wizards and the only way to beat them is to punch them as hard as I can in their faces. Then, when I'm done, all their little wizard wives came out and wanted me to have sex with them - which is kinda weird."

by GoldenNugget on Apr 21, 2010 3:03 PM MDT reply actions

Thabeet is a victim of suck...

All you needed to know about him was how badly Blair dominated him on the boards each time they met in college. How does a guy who’s 6 inches shorter than you grab 21 boards and you only grab like 8?

Look, if you can’t do it against college competition, you’re not going to do it in the NBA.

I think he’s going to be terrible in relation to where he was drafted throughout his career. Think a worse version of Emeka Okafor.

by chantech on Apr 21, 2010 3:32 PM MDT up reply actions

You could argue that with everyone 6 inches taller than Blair

That guy has a nose for rebounding, and has consistantly shown he can rebound with anyone in the paint. He has yet to be dominated by NBA vets in the RPG stats. I don’t think it’s fair to say that Thabeet is a bust…yet. He’s a rookie with a long way to go. Blair is a rebounding freak.

Also getting drafted to a team that has an established C in Marc Gasol and a aback up in Haddadi, and Z-Bo at PF/C didn’t help his case.

I would have put Ricky Rubio’s punk ass up there for not wanting to play with the big boys.

by Joelsopinion on Apr 21, 2010 3:44 PM MDT up reply actions

I think Thabeet

will never live up to being the 2nd pick of the draft, especially since Curry, Evans and Jennings went after him, but he could still be a Mutombo like center if he stays out of foul trouble long enough to do anything. The fundamental problem with this pick was that the Grizzlies actually believe that Mike Conley is better than some of the pgs drafted in the 1st round this past season and he’s not.

Can we nominate Thabeet for this one too? :)

Rasheed Wallace

has to take that one

True...

Don’t you think that a talented rookie should be able to bypass the guy 2nd on the depth chart and provide quality minutes like Ty did with AC? It’s not like he’s playing behind Bynum, Gasol, and Odom. This is a guy who shot 38% this year and rebounded above the league average and couldn’t play defense (granted the sample sizes were small).

I think he should have been 2nd on the depth chart and should have played significant minutes for a Memphis team that had no depth and played a 7 man rotation for most of the year.

I feel like Petro is better than this guy…

by chantech on Apr 21, 2010 3:51 PM MDT reply actions

I agree

If you draft him that high you better damn well use him IMO. Ty was almost a shoe-in for the 2nd option pg. His competition was AC. That’s not a knock on AC, but Ty is the polar opposite of him and a nice contrast in PG play behind Billups. Thanks again T-Wolves.

Personally I think Petro and Thabeet sub in for each other and no one would be the wiser. I also think that Thabeet’s Stiffy award is undeserved, but somebody has to get it so oh well.

See my previous comment

I hate that little brat. I hope he gets his ass handed to him when he shows up, and goes down as the most over rated player ever.

by Joelsopinion on Apr 21, 2010 4:46 PM MDT up reply actions

Can you fault him for acting in his own self interest?

Move to a new country, make less, play for a horrible team or stay where you are now and make more?

Our good friend Kleiza seemed to decide that he could make more playing in Europe.

by chantech on Apr 21, 2010 4:55 PM MDT up reply actions

I don't like the waffling (sp?)

Why register for the draft if you have no intentions to play? He knew his contract status well in advance of draft night. The dude was blowing smoke and trying to get clubs into auction over him or something. He has yet to prove anything on the NBA level and didn’t merrit the attention. As an athlete and competitor wouldn’t want to play against the best? It just proves where his heart is. he would have been making loads of money eventually while playing against the best. He’s a punk.

by Joelsopinion on Apr 21, 2010 5:05 PM MDT up reply actions

Also, he looks like he's 10

I wouldn’t want him on the Nuggets either…

by chantech on Apr 21, 2010 5:17 PM MDT up reply actions

Rubio expected to go second in the draft

Im sure some agent told him he would go no further then 3. That was really the only scenario in which a small market team could sign him and hve him play. Had New York got him I’m sure he would have had enough endorsement deals to cover the losses of buying out of his contract but he didn’t get a top 3 contract and didn’t get a big market so he had to stay in europe because it would have cost too much to come over to the states now. Basketball in the offseason and draft is a business and Rubio made a financially prudent business decision

To me

It’s the equivilent of Ledouch hyping everybody up for a half decent dunk contest, then backing out on his word.

Or Stu Jackson vowing to penalize flopping more effectively. Then allowing Manu and company to continue unfettered.

If a college player pulled the same shit Rubio did, his ass would be at a drive through asking if I want fries with my coke because his scholarship is now null and void. How is there such a giant loophole for European talent and not for college players? You can’t get drafted then not like the team that selected you. Pull a Kobe and demand a trade.

by Joelsopinion on Apr 22, 2010 8:32 AM MDT up reply actions

Ricky who?

That guy is a fag. I hope he comes to the NBA and gets dunked on by everybody! Then, he can cry like a little b*tch and leave.

by Mini Hulk on Apr 21, 2010 5:19 PM MDT up reply actions

I think more importantly...

If you draft a guy, you should make sure you’re making the best possible draft choice and do everything you can to make sure the guy isn’t a bust (I know there’s a lot of luck involved).

I actually admire what Memphis is doing with him…it’s obvious he’s not going to contribute and he’s not that good, so let’s try to develop him rather than just throw him out there, to the detriment of their team.

So awesome...

Does it annoy anyone else when they show celebs during Laker games?

It’s like, I don’t care who the hell is at the Lakers game and I don’t care to see celebrities in the crowd (well, I guess Eva Longoria is fine).

funniest thing I have ever seen on Stiffs....really.

Billy Mac: "Lamar, can you see yourself actually getting in the (boxing) ring"?
Lamar Odom: "No. My face is too pretty."

I can’t imagine anyone more deserving, in every sense of the word.

Chris Andersen Files: Bench Billups?

He did disregard (or would have disregarded if he was listening) AD’s call to have Lawson bring up the ball at the end of the game.

Interesting post:

IDK, I really like Chauncey, but more and more, I am disappointed with some of his decisions. Maybe expectations are too high But it does seem like the matador D, the contested three’s shot early in the shot clock, and the lack of ball movement have Chauncey’s name written all over them. But to his defense, not alot of people can slow down D-Will. but at the same time he was matched up on Wesley Matthews most of game 2 as Afflalo was on Williams.

"I know the game of basketball is one-on-one (oriented), but the pain of beating a defense by the pass — it confuses and frustrates the defense more than just going by a guy one-on-one." George Karl

Interesting

I wouldn’t bench Chauncey. And I’m sure he respects how he coaches. Chauncey changes the plays sometimes, and, as long as they work, I’m all for it.

Vegas says Utah by two and a half

Hey all. I think that with the Chauncey nonsense and AD being AD that the whole night rests on the Matthews V. Melo matchup. Melo has to make good on his promises to keep his head cool. That last foul in game 2 was D league-esque… If Melo gets to talking to the officials early then I say the Jazz win this one by double digits. Game 4 is the best chance to even things.

by Jay Monk on Apr 23, 2010 4:31 PM MDT reply actions

DOUBLE DIGITS... I SORTA predicted it...

Melo needs Coach Carl. Seriously. Hundred percent. The Jazz’s undrafted rookie and their wing who is always in Sloan’s doghouse supposedly (Miles) have taken all the fire out of Carmelo’s game. Oh, and what could make matters worse? The broadcast of those :Utah Fans of Carmelo in Utah" commercials was flat out embarrassing. Based on body language… this series is already OVER.

Those Carmelo commercials were about as embarrassing as the game 2 chants of Utah Sucks while they were kicking the &^%$ out of us. If something sucks and its beating us then that makes us pretty low on the totem pole. Dumb. We need an interior defender during the offseason and Carmelo needs about 12 sessions with a sports psychologist. Kenyon needs to go play for the GSW or PaperClips.

by Jay Monk on Apr 24, 2010 1:03 AM MDT up reply actions

ONE MORE THING... from a stats perspective

Chauncey and Melo both shot the ball well… both above 50 percent. Nuggets went to the line more than the Jazz. So how the heck did they get it handed to them so bad in the second half. Melo did seem a little less focused and a little bugged by the refs but not nearly as bad as in Game 2.

STIFF LIST (as of 2/7 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. THE NUGGETS AT HOME
How is it possible that a Nuggets team with this much talent can be 7-5 at home?! Things have gotten so bad that fans are clamoring for J.R. Smith to return.

2. CARMELO ANTHONY
Kobe Bryant plays through any and all ailments. Melo uses any and ailments as an excuse not to play.

3. KEVIN LOVE
Just when the T'Wolves are looking better, Love stomps on Luis Scola and lands himself a two-game suspension.

4. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS
The 'Cats have lost 11 straight and are now 3-21 ... in the Eastern Conference! This is what happens when you let an underwear salesman with a Hitler mustache run your team.

5. MIKE BROWN
Dr. Bunsen Honeydew (Google it!) got himself a one-game suspension for making contact with a referee.
