What would you trade Malik "Tacos" Allen for
Have you ever seen a more finally tuned athlete as sexy as Malik Allen? Maybe, just Maybe. But unfortunately for us, being sexy is not enough to be a contributing factor to the Nuggets, but before I start to criticize Malik Allen's play, let's look at the positives for Malik Allen.
Now that we laid out the positives let us look at the negatives of Malik "Tacos" Allen.
1. He does not seem to notice when someone passes him the ball.
Chris Anderson made a perfect no look pass where Malik Allen was right underneath the basket for an open dunk/layup, if Malik Allen had been K-mart, it would of been a vicious dunk, but Malik Allen did not seem to notice he was being passed to until the ball was in his hand, where he then had to dribble back out and pass (Sign).
2. He does not box his man out ever.
Remember when you were a kid playing basketball with your friends, and when someone shot it the ball hit the back of the rim, everyone prepared for the rebound by just hoping it came to them? Malik Allen is one of those kids.
3. He can't shoot, He can't defend, It's not that it was 5 vs 8 last night, it was 4 vs 8 for the time he was on the court.
Im sure you get the point now, and to be fair Malik Allen only played 5 minutes, when he should of switched his minutes with Petro, which was 0. Petro actually rebounds, hustles and finds the open man from time to time. Even though Petro is an offensive liability sometimes, Tacos is a liability anywhere on the court doing anything that does not contribute to the other team.
So my question is this, what would you trade Malik Allen for that would be a realistic scenario, 2 tacos? 4 tacos?
go ahead and share your insight.
Write respectfully of your SB Nation community and yourself.

"I believe that basketball, when a certain level of unselfish team play is realized, can serve as a kind of metaphor for ultimate cooperation. It is a sport where success, as symbolized by the championship, requires that the dictates of the community prevail over selfish personal impulses. An exceptional player is simply one point on a five-pointed star. Statistics—such as points, rebounds, or assists per game—can never explain the remarkable interaction that takes place on a successful pro team."

I'll trade Malik Allen for Coby Karl
And play Chauncey at point, AC at SG, Ty Lawson at small forward, Afflalo at power forward, and Karl at center.

Whatever then
Switch Lawson and Chauncey. Also, instead of getting Coby Karl we could get Muggsy Bogues to come out of retirement to hold down the center spot.

haha
That line up would fare well against GS! The Warriors are basically an all SG and SF team =)

I'd trade him for a case of Natty Lite
and a smack on the ass.
I don’t get why Tacos gets PT. Develop Petro. At least he addresses our weaknesses. We don’t need another mid-range brick layer. That’s all Allen is.
Shoot, I rather see Balkman hustle his ass off and rebound like crazy.

I've been saying this all season
I really think he is the worst basketball player to play in an NBA game this season.
+1
How did he even get in the league?
However when i was at the Hornets game last week Allen and Petro came out to shoot after half time before anyone and Tacos made 5 three pointers in the corner in a row… why doesn’t he ever shoot that in the game! He’s usually open!

No no no you're right
I hit up the Rubio’s on Colorado Blvd on Tuesdays for $1.25 fish tacos.
Wahoo’s – not so much.

Well, I didn't know there was a Rubio's here
and settled for Wahoo’s. But Rubio’s is my favorite.
And now I totally want to brave the snow and get a dang fish taco.

when you say ‘here’ you mean Denver, right? Drive on Federal south of Alameda and hit up one of the many tacquerias. You won’t be disappointed.

it's taquería
and I just thursty’d you en español. How does it taste?
Oh man, I moved away from CO to Texas 4 years ago and miss Rubio’s like the dickens! Thanks a bunch for reminding me… However, they did away with my favorite menu item a while back, the lobster burrito. That thing should have earned some sort of award, I would have done anything for one of those! And then, Rubio’s crushed my dreams and discontinued it.
Trade him for whatever you can get

No, Malik was one of those kids who was always last to get picked when teams were made.

To think we dumped J Howard to keep a such a stiff
I just can’t figure it out . . I guess Allen had gauranteed money so it would cost us double to have kept Howard who is a servicable veteran big man.
Allen is clearly not good enough to play in the NBA.
And after all our tacos bashing, he'll hit the game winning
3 pt play and give us TACOS!!!

Tacos
Has had plenty of chances to play and make an impact here but hasn’t. He’s been a total non factor in every game as a nugget. He’s probably a good guy, limited by age and physical abilities – and it’s possible he brings a winning mentality and intangibles to the locker room (yeah right). But, during an NBA basketball game in which the Nuggets goal is win, it has not and never will make any sense to insert Tacos into that situation like he is going to positively effect the game. It’s not logical
For the money Tacos is making...
couldnt the front office have just drafted and signed Dejuan Blair to a rookie contract, there by getting us a player that can actually rebound with energy and maybe even finish around the rim a couple of times.
I would trade him for a washing machine, no dryer though cause no one would give up both for tacos.
Malik is making 1.3 million, Blair is making around 0.8 million
One is WAY better than the other. I know we sold our pick for 2.25 million, but Blair is worth more than 3 million, and Birdman needs rest, so if we had drafted him he could be starting right now…which means no Malik and not much Petro.
But then we’d be out of gas…get it? Never mind.

How old is Tacos? He’s one of those guys who could just looked pretty old with the balding head, but really be 28 or something. Or, he could be 45, which is what he looks like.
And disregarding looks, if you just watch him move on the court, it seriously looks like someone threw my old man on the court and said, “Get em’!”.
Who does he blackmail to get a contract and playing time? What could he possibly have on Kroenke/The League? I think he happened into some insider information on the referee scandal, and blackmailed Stern into insuring him a job in the NBA for as long as he wants in return for not speaking out. Just watch, after he’s tired of destroying our basketball team, him and AC are going to get GM gigs in the league, we can only hope they prey on a different organization.
Malik Allen should read this article
because I could of sworn it was Deja Vu last night when Birdman passed Malik Allen the ball and Tacos being Tacos, was not paying attention and the ball went out of bounds.(sign)
exactly
there was no one behind Allen, and any decent athlete would of been able to retrieve it, but he went after the ball like gramps.
Birdman is a so-called young 32
Malik Allen plays as well as my grandpa.

Someone needs to talk with Dantley
He’s trying to do things he thinks will work… Allen in the rotation though… does NOT work.
There's nobody else to turn too
He started subbing in Joey Graham for Carmelo. Balkman is still out with “back spasms” or whatever. Everybody’s playing. Makes one wonder if they made a trade or something earlier in the season.
Balkman looks sleepy every time the camera turns to him on the bench
Ugh. Why couldn’t GK have made somebody else like that Gurgrich guy head coach?

Because Karl wouldn’t play him. You’d think with Karl gone, Balkman would be able to play, but no, he’s “hurt”.
why cant Dantley just suit up, he's got better moves than Tacos....

He's got like 22,000 career points
Sure, he might be out of shape, and sure, he might be old and rickety now, but he’s still better than Tacos and Balkman.
