GK to miss the rest of the road trip
Acording to the DP:http://www.denverpost.com/nuggets/ci_14663544
I expected as much. When I went into chemo treatments I thought I would miss a lot less work than I actually did. Surgery, chemo and radiation mess you up a lot more than you expect. I wouldn't be surpirsed if GK misses all the games for the next several weeks.

Road games at least
I could still see him coming to home games, but I can’t see travelling for the road games. They had to put a feeding tube in, which means his throat is bad enough he can’t eat. It’s probably best for everyone if he does what he can do in practice and let A.D. run the games.
Get well soon, G.K.
Oof
Yeah, this is rough. Here’s hoping he doesn’t suffer any more than he absolutely has to.
Now’s when we see how well the Nuggets can really handle this situation — back-to-back road games versus opponents that are not pushovers like the Twolves.

the feeding tube doesn’t have to be because of throat hurting either. It’s could just be effects of chemo, it’s rough. between the vomiting patients just don’t have any desire to eat… start get lethargic and sleep because of the low amount of calories they are taking. This is just to make sure he keeps his nutrition up. As soon he is done with chemo he will feel 100% times better and won’t need the feeding tube. I had to deal with all of these with my father with his vocal cord cancer. it’s rough but being positive is best thing…. Karl will do great and will be back on the sideline after his chemo is done. GO NUGGS
When I was on chemo they told me that the taste of food would change and I wouldn’t like the taste of certain thing and that things I didn’t like might taste good to me. My experience was that everything tasted bad and the smell of certain foods made me very sick. I lost 60 lbs. (which I could stand to lose) on chemo, but gained it back afterwards due to hormonal problems. The chemo just about destroyed my endocrine system along with severe nerve damage in my hands and feet.
From what I understand, the chemo Karl is doing isn’t as bad as what they did on me, but they didn’t do radiation on me the way they are doing Karl, so his experience is going to be different from mine.

Karl needs to take all the time he wants off
AD is doing a great job filling in for him.
"Jive turkey is a little over the line my man!"
"I'm kinda grumpy today, dude. I didn't get a lot of sleep last night. I was having those dreams again. Ya know, how it's just me in a castle and I gotta fight, like, a thousand wizards and the only way to beat them is to punch them as hard as I can in their faces. Then, when I'm done, all their little wizard wives came out and wanted me to have sex with them - which is kinda weird."
Meh
We just need him for the playoffs.

"I really didn't want it, but now that I've won it, it's nice. It's an honor. It's nice to know people don't think you're a total idiot. ... It must have been a poor year for coaches." - Doug Moe...talking about winning 1987-88 Coach of the Year award.

george karl the rocky balboa of cancer patients
if hollywood ever decided to make a movie about this seasons’ nuggets nobody would ever believe it. think of all the plot lines. the home town hero, the depression era like economy, injuries, felon turns his life around and makes good, the rookie braking into the line up and now the coach going the distance with cancer for the second time. and oh ya throw in a few basketball games here and there. it has been kinda busy around here lately.
pick up a calf every day pretty soon you will be picking up a cow
If they made a movie out of the Nuggets season this year
I’d totally go see it. It’d probably be a documentary.
I want to be cast
as the ghost of Renaldo Balmkan. In a good movie you have to explain everything, and people are gonna want to know who’s sitting at the end of the bench every game, completely invisible to the rest of the team and coaching staff. It would be just like the 6th Man starring Marlon Waynes and Kadeem Hardison. “Oh shit! It’s the ghost of Renaldo Balkman son!”
