D-Will Almost a Nugget????
Now im not trying to dwell on the past or say what could have been, but Karl said the Nuggets came very close to getting the #2 pick from in ATL in the 2005 Draft.... He said the plan was to draft Williams. Idk why this trade didn't go through, but im curious to what the trade would have been.... personally I dont regret anything b/c if we got Dwil we would have never gotten Billups so, its not bad, but its weird thinking we almost had Deron Williams.

That would have been crazy.
I love Billups, but D-Will AND Melo would have been insane, especially since they are both really young and could grow together.
Never wouldve worked
The REASON “d-will” (whom I also thought was Darrent Williams SDcat) is so succesful now is because there isn’t another superstar on that team.
I know that we all like to say that Chauncey is a the MVP of this team but we only have ONE superstar, and that’s Melo. Period.
Chauncey is the first one to say it.
Good example of two supertars? Try AI and Melo….

I just have to disagree
D-Will is a PG, and one of the best in the leauge for that mattter, his job is to be unselfish, and that is his nature as a PG. I see no way that he and Melo could not fit together.
I agree with your disagreement
D-will is a very capable pg, look at the improvement of Boozer once he came to Utah, you can credit a lot of that to D-will. Unfortunately SFK, your theory about how he is only successful because he is the only superstar (which by the way Carlos Boozer, while not a sueprstar, is no slouch and because he has D-will is borderline, he is on the national team after all and no just some role player like prince or miller were) has no evidence to support it
Why live life on the edge, when you can jump off?
Deron is the 3rd or 4th best PG in the league
Chris Paul, Steve Nash, and Chauncey are the other main ones.
Monta Ellis is not a point guard at all. Tyreke Evans is more of a SF who has PG skills, kinda like Lebron.

Okay, that headline totally confused me
I was thinking of Darrent Williams….that’s deserves a big ole
facepalm to myself and a DOH!!
but I’m glad he didn’t find his way here. I’m not a fan.

PS Let's win the NL West in 2010, shall we?
I read it earlier too
Hawks at that time were a craptastic team whose main guys were Al Harrington and Fatoine Walker…their only bright spots were two skinny forwards named Josh Childress and Josh Smith, plus a newcomer from Phoenix named Joe Johnson. Marv-Will averaged 8.5 ppg and 4.8 rpg during his rookie season, and is not much better today. Why they drafted him ahead of Deron Williams and Chris Paul is beyond me. We weren’t open to giving away Melo, so we’d have to pony up a package of Andre Miller + future first-rounders that weren’t given away in the KMart deal + Camby. Come to think of it, with hindsight, I’d probably do the swap.

Oh, and Skita was still on our team at that time!
