A Larry Brown Thought...
Well apparently some guy has made an offer to buy the Bobcats and if Jordan doesnt want to buy the majority of team, he would lose is partial ownership.... and this new guy doesnt want jordan part of the FO... Larry Brown said that if MJ wasnt in the FO to make decissions he would leave... so if this happens, you think Kroenke would shell out the money to get a great coach in Larry Brown? THink about it, this guy made a shitty team in CHA into playoff contendors with great defense and a Pistons teams into champions... THis guy is legit and a legend.... But i think he has a high price tag.... think about it, him and chauncey love each other, always praising each other and stuff. He would love a hard nosed player like kmart. Melo is a superstar who would get along w him, the only guy i could see butting heads with him would be JR, but if JR can handle karl then brown shouldnt be a problem
also brown is a major NC guy, so he must love lawson....
just an idea
UPDATE: THIS IS COMPLETELY UNRELATED, well i found this really cool/random flow chart about how all the nuggz trades link together, kinda cool to look through

It'd be a very tricky situation getting rid of Karl and bringing in his good friend Larry Brown.
Not sure how Denver could make that work.

It’d be sort of like your buddy’s girlfriend breaking up with him and then asking you out … sure she may be hot, but you can’t really do that to your friend can you?!

sure you can.
we should start seeing larry on the side now. then we can make a seemless transition when we ditch karl at the end of the season.

c’mon dude Man Law clearly states that’s a no no. “No dude shall ask out the ex of a friend.” That’s like the cardinal rule. Who are you “the situation”?

Just stealing from "Jersey Shore," but I have been known to crack some jokes.

But it's different in this sense...
That Brown staked his claim in Denver first, AND he is Karl’s mentor. So really, it’s more like the suave, mature dude who was with the chick first, broke up with her and let his little brother date her for a while but he couldn’t handle her, and now the older bro is back to take what is rightfully his.
Bottom line is this is business, if you can’t get the job done then they will find someone else who will. Karl’s feelings can get hurt all they want for all I care, I want Brown in becuase I want a title while we can get one.
Hahaha
Big if, but if GK split for say NJ, then Brown wouldn’t have any reasonable qualms for coming here. And as for dealing with personalities like JR (as mentioned in the FanPost), recall that Brown did an admirable job with the strong personality of AI all those years. In fact, AI is really keen on Brown.

Would be great
but like you said, he’s friends with Karl, so it would be difficult. I think Brown is head and shoulders the best coach for this team, but he wouldn’t want to step on Karl’s toes. At a minimum, Karl would have to walk as a free agent before Brown would even talk to the Nuggets.
Not so sure about Melo and Brown getting along
After all, they didn’t exactly see eye to eye in Athens now did they?
Melo has matured
And he now knows that Brown is a pretty damn good coach. Used to coach us.

6 of 1 half dozen of another
brown and karl both played at north carolina for coach dean smith. mike jordan and doug moe also played there. they are all on the same page philosophically and fundamentally. the huge difference is tolerance. karl has too much and brown has zero. the front office will rubber stamp what brown wants or larry is gone. smith walks off the court he is traded. smith misses free throws he will not play. balkman does not go all out in practice he gets released not a contract extension. melo plays with a gerald wallace effort at both ends of the court at all times or he is on the bench. stan kroenke allows cb1 to pick the coach it will be karl.

I see nothing wrong with that

What about B. Scott?
He seems like a good coach to me.
No way
he rode CP3’s coat tail to the playoffs. I don’t think he’s a good coach. As evident by his unemployment right now.
by Joelsopinion on Feb 4, 2010 12:53 PM MST up reply actions
Yeah, not a big fan of Scott
I think he’s a great coach but I don’t like the way he has gone out everywhere he has been. Just seems like he thinks he’s too cool for school. I think Brown if available and Laimbeer should be the top choices to replace Karl if he doesn’t come back. Van Gundy wouldn’t be a bad choice either.
Are we only hiring employed coaches?
How about J. Sloan or Pop?
What coach doesn’t ride his bets player’s coat tails? Ask P. Jackson what he thinks about that.
I seem to remember Popovich stating he would retire once Duncan did. But who knows, maybe he meant he would move on to another organization. In any case, he would take less shit than Brown would from players.

Me too
If you don’t like him, you should at least respect him. Super nice guy in person, really reserved and personable.
