Our March Schedule, with my "analysis" and pictures!
March will be a very important month for us. At the time this is/was posted, the Nuggets are 38-19, but Utah (and Dallas for that matter) are right on our heels, and since nobody else has done this, I will.
A quick look at it shows that there are 5 back-to-backs, including the dreaded "4 games in 5 nights" thing from March 12 to 16. For the schedule and my "analysis," join me after the break!
I'll start out by showing the schedule, from the Denver Nuggets homepage (It's a lot better than it used to be):

Our first back-to-back will be a roadie at LA on February 28 and at Phoenix on the first day of March. I have a suspicious feeling that the Nuggets will go 1-1 on this back-to-back...
I can't wait to watch the Nuggets play Kobe and the L@kers! (via ymswwc.files.wordpress.com)
On the second night of a back-to-back, we'll face this guy's team (via 1.bp.blogspot.com)
The L@kers are always a formidable team, no matter how much Kobe is hogging the ball or how many threes Fisher jacks up. The Suns have been playing well as of late, as Amar'''''''''''e Stoudemire has finally realized that scoring is not the only facet of the game that he should be worried about.
Next is a home matchup against the Thunder. Kevin Durant is scoring at an incredible rate (Melo wasn't as good as Durant when he was 21), but Carmelo Anthony > Durantula as of right now.
Um.....OKAY.....(via images.dailyradar.com)
Nuggets will probably take care of business at home and win this.
Next will be a home game against the Indiana Corn Pacers. Even with the Nuggets' suckery against bad teams, I'd gonna go out on a limb and say that the game against the Pacers will be a....win.
Put your hands on your hips.... (via www.sculu.com)
After that is a nationally-televised game against the Blazers at home. Since everybody underestimates the Blazers, I'll say that this will be a loss. Unless if Andre Miller dribbles the ball for 20 seconds at the top of the key every possession.
This counts as man love, right? Better caption: BALL (via www3.pictures.zimbio.com)
The TimberLOLves are next, and they have already beaten the Nuggets at Pepsi Center once. However, the Nuggets will be playing in frigid Minnesota, so they'll be fine. WIN.
Kahn: So, guys, how do you like my 10-year rebuilding plan? I think it's perfect!
Glen Taylor: Are you sure it can't be longer?
Kahn: Well, we could stretch it to 15 years if we can convince Ricky to stay in Europe for 5 more seasons
Rambis: Um, can we get some real NBA players on my team? I'm damn sick of having to play Damien Wilkins and Oleksiy Pecherov and Ryan Hollins because you aren't giving me real NBA players.
Kahn: WHAT? Are you kidding me? I've given you Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes, Kevin Love, Nathan Jawai, Brian Cardinal, Jonny Flynn, and Ramon Sessions. And Rubio is coming over in 10 years!
Rambis: Um, all of those players are either power forwards or point guards...
Kahn: Fine then. I'll kill two birds with one stone by trading Brian Cardinal for Darko Millicic. I get rid of a power forward, and Darko was once the second pick in the draft!

(via a.espncdn.com)
The first two games of their "4 games in 5 nights" fiasco are a back-to-back at Memphis and at New Orleans. Since the Nuggets are 6-8 in the second game of a back-to-back, I'll say we go 1-1.
No comment (via www.nba.com)
Odd man love (via www1.pictures.gi.zimbio.com)
On March 15 and 16, we have another back-to-back, with a road game at Houston and a home game against the Washington Bullets. As with the back-to-back right before this one, even though the opponents are not that great I'm expecting 1-1 since the Nuggets just aren't that good at back-to-backs and since they can't finish off business against bad teams.
Whatever (via images.icanhascheezburger.com)
(via larrybrownsports.com)
I'll put the next two down at the same time, since they are similar games: a home game against NOLA and a home game against the Bucks. I am hoping for 2-0 here, but you never know.
Oh noes, a giant hornet! (via www.muenster.org)
The next back-to-back will be a double roadie at the New York Brickerbockers and the Boston Celtics. I say 1-1 like I have earlier for all the prior back-to-backs, but for some reason I have better hopes for this one being 2-0.
Very fitting (via www.wyckoffschools.org)
Perfect! (via cache.boston.com)
Next, we will play at Toronto on the 26th. It will be the third game of a five-game road trip.
I was going to post the Hedo Turkoglu "ball" video (URL is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56GL0ayF9Fs). I can't seem to figure out how to embed the video.
Wow, almost looks like the real thing (via farm1.static.flickr.com)
The Nuggets finish off the month with a back-to-back at Orlando and at Dallas. I don't really have much to say about this, except that I absolutely hate the WizardsBullets for letting go of Caron Butler but more importantly Brendan Haywood for Josh Howard and benchwarmers. However, the original deal was Butler for Howard, but the WizardsBullets decided to include Haywood in there too...ugh.
Yeah, I'm just as shocked as you about the fact that you're still in the NBA (via upload.wikimedia.org)
This guy never fails (via blogs.dallasobserver.com)
So....that adds up to a 11-5 record in the month of March (Lakers game not included). If you include the Detroit game and the Lakers game, I'll say 12-6, but I'm hoping for 13-5. However, again, the Nuggets have a habit of dropping random games that they should win.
I will add more of my thoughts later when I have more time. Sorry for the ridiculously long post, but I had to put everything on there.
Here's Hedo's "Ball" postgame interview that somehow went all the way down to here.
Write respectfully of your SB Nation community and yourself.

wow
That may be the longest post every. For some reason, I don’t know why, I feel like the team is about to go on a big run to finish the season like they did in Karl’s first season. I think the Lakers will lose about 6 more games so the nuggets essentially have to run the table to catch them. Unlikely to catch the Lakers, but I do feel like there is a big run.
Hmm
Video did work. I just fail at the HTML thing.

Uh, being one of the old guys around here and not to put anybody down, but what happened to the word “Failure”? All over the internet I see “Fail” where it should say “failure” and here you are doing it, as well as the picture you posted uses it. What’s going on? What’s the problem with using “failure”?
"Woohoo Denver, Yeah... All right Denver justify my love!" ...Homer Simpson
Well that labels it but doesn’t explain it.
Marge Simpson: “If Milhous was jumping off a cliff would you do it too”.
Bart Simpson: “Milhous has a cliff? I’m there!”.
People have been converting verbs into nouns for a long time now but that doesn’t make it right, particularly in this case where there is a perfectly good noun already in place.
"Woohoo Denver, Yeah... All right Denver justify my love!" ...Homer Simpson
Sorry Thursty
I know this is a rather lame dick excuse, but I’m 13. I’m very smart for a 13-year-old, but I’m still 13, and I have not yet achieved a complete understanding of grammar. I also have a feeling that I may have done something wrong in the above sentences.
Also, this is a blog…

Do you mean to tell me that you’ve never heard the word “failure” before?
Your teachers are not necessarily a bunch of crackpots (though some are) but when they are trying to teach you how to write it’s not just a formality. Blog or not when you write where you have an audience (here it is maybe a few hundred but the potential is nearly a billion) your message is much more effective if it uses correct English. I’m beginning to doubt the ability of teachers as I’ve seen elementary errors in their writing too. Instead of teaching you the sub texts and symbolisms of “Lord of the Flies” (do they still make you read that one?) they ought to be spending some time on English grammar and usage. This may be a blog, but so what? Do you want to be known for poor English usage? Do you want to make a habit of poor English usage? Because what will happen when you need to write something for college admissions, a potential employer or even perhaps to sway a judge? Do you want habitual poor English usage to show up there and ruin your opportunity? You might proofread such a document and let poor usage slip by because you are in such a habit of seeing it that way. I don’t want you to think I’m picking on you specifically, I’d say the same thing to just about every 13 year old, hell I even say the same things to my 24 year old daughter.
"Woohoo Denver, Yeah... All right Denver justify my love!" ...Homer Simpson
Come on Thursty....lay off
LACK’s posts are always entertaining regardless of what you think is grammar failures. 13 years old or not.
Just enjoy it for it is and try not to turn into an old man. I’m 31….and LACK’s posts are, quite frankly, much better than mine.

Lack is only 13? I feel web-ignorant. Why the hell didn’t they teach me anything useful in school? Sure I can find Seville on a map, but that’s lame shit.

I am not able to properly embed the HTML needed for the video.
I also am not an expert at the subtle nuances of grammar.

No I was saying
Thursty was asking why you didn’t use the word “failure” in that context.
by Uh on Mar 1, 2010 9:23 PM MST up reply actions
Actually in that case it should have been “failed”, that’s the past tense of fail, so it wasn’t grammatically fine. In the case of the photo it should have been failure.
There’s “fail” which is a verb as in “The Tacoma Narrows bridge will fail”
There’s “failed” which is the past tens of the verb as in “The Tacoma Narrows bridge failed to stay up”.
There’s the noun “failure” as in “The Tacoma Narrows bridge was an epic failure”.
My question is why so many people are using “fail” in all cases instead of the correct term? Who decided that would be a style or meme if you will? It’s not meant to point the finger at anyone. I just want to know what is going on. The conversion of “disconnect” from a verb to a noun is awkward enough, why would anyone want to convert “fail” to a noun when there is a perfectly suitable noun available in “failure”?
"Woohoo Denver, Yeah... All right Denver justify my love!" ...Homer Simpson
Because it is 2010
and this is what we young chaps call the interwebs, have you ever read Youtube comments?(you would get a heart attack). Face it, the English language is constantly changing, does anyone speak like Shakespeare did? Also people use different type of speech in different circumstances, I wouldn’t speak at work as I did with friends, a sports blog is not a place for grammar lessons. Now if you were at work and your colleagues or employees spoke improper grammar than maybe you should say something, but leave us the fuck alone with it already.
March 14, 2010: The great one returns!
It's not that I hate grammar or anything.
Of course good grammar translates into easier communication of ideas, which is what a blog is supposed to be all about. Actually I really like the fact the Denver Stiffs commenters are on the whole pretty good at grammar. Unlike some other blogs/forums around.
But at the same time, “fail” is practically a part of everyday language (even outside of the Internet). I don’t know why it is, but it’s widely accepted and gets its point across. To me (and this is strictly personal opinion), “I just fail at the HTML thing” is quicker and easier to read than “I am just a failure at the HTML thing.” But it’s pretty close, so whatever.

What Phil H and Uh said
I mean look, Thursty, I’m actually somewhat sympathetic to your point of view. It drives me up the wall when people use “your” when they should use “you’re.” That includes in the comments section of a sports blog. It’s all I can do not to correct people when I see that. The only thing that holds me back is knowing that I’d just get a lot of responses like “Oh shut up, grammar Nazi.” So yeah, I can understand being driven crazy by bad spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
HAVING SAID THAT, nobody in particular decided that FAIL would be a style or a meme. Somebody started it, and a bunch of people found it funny, and it caught on, and now it’s all over the place. I think it might be starting to grow a bit stale, but I found it very funny at first, and used it a lot, even though I know perfectly well the difference between “fail,” “failure,” and “failed.” It’s called “humor.” Saying it’s a meme both labels it and explains it — it’s a thing that people find funny or amusing, so it gets repeated a lot.
Re. Phil H.‘s advice to avoid Youtube comments, I’ll go one better and say, dear God, whatever you do, don’t follow this link — it’ll make your head explode:

We have to play the Suns right after the Lakers?
We’re going to lose one of those, that’s for sure. :[
