Lawson injures left thumb in practice
Looking over the Nuggets injury report today I noticed Ty Lawson's name appears. His status is listed as "To Be Determined" after "X-Rays and an examination" on his left hand ... hopefully it's minor, but his status for Thursday's game is now up in the air.
Looking over Lawson's Twitter account, he makes no mention of the injury, although he has been active today in Twitterland.

At least the Nugs can replace him and won't just be guaranteed a loss without him
Hopefully he is able to play soon though…
This could be chalked up to, "slow news day" as Lawson likely plays Thursday, we'll see ...

Ugh.
Please be okay Lawson. X-rays and an examination point to a hyperextension at the very least, broken bone at the worst, and we can ill afford to replace him with AC at this point in the season for any length of time.
Swats.
it is his non shooting hand
if he had to play he could. the way denver plays against bad teams ac’s defense and passing is what the nuggets need.

The nuggets need?
someone to make passes that land in the third row?

great to see you quit picking on cancer victims

every team needs that
you know … for comic relief
Hopefully
He’ll be fine. He’s not been doing as well lately as he had been doing earlier this year. Rookie wall or whatever, hopefully a bit of extra rest can fix it.

I will file this under....
… nothing major to worry about. Even if he does sit the next couple of games, Denver’ll be fine.
Of course, I am one of the few Stiffs readers who thinks the Nuggets are good enough to survive AC coming off the bench for 15 minutes in relief if he as to.

Paul Pierce
Hope the thumb is not as bad as Pierce’s.
He looked awful on Sunday against the Nuggets.
I'm tired of Pierce
I’ve disliked him for as long as I can remember. Not only do I not like the guy personality wise, I can’t stand his game. And he looks like another guy I don’t like too well. I’m still pissed at his 2008 “injury” in the finals. Being carried off like a cheerleader that fell from the pyramid…lil bitch. This is a man’s league damnit so play like a man. F his thumb “injury”.

Well....
I beg to differ. I would not label Paul Pierce a “lil bitch.” The dude was stabbed 11 times and nearly died 10 years ago while trying to break up a fight. I have a feeling Joelsopinion has never been stabbed 10 times.
Just sayin’

Just because
You get stabbed and live doesn’t excuse you from the “lil bitch” handle or make you a G, it means you’re lucky. Did you watch the video QuixX posted? He plays like a little biatch! I think he has a history of blowing injuries out of proportion for attention.
No I was never stabbed 11 times, but I have come back from the brink of death and I have the 10 inch scar to prove it. If he was stabbed 11 times he just isn’t a very fast thinker.

you started it
a person commented that kmart needed to grow up and lose his angry black man persona. you took exception to the comment. you stated that dirk is the angry white man persona and pau gasol was the angry european man persona. i commented that dirk was the angry european man persona, gasol was the angry hispanic man persona, the angry white man persona was actually the happy black man persona and that mark cuban was the crazy white bitch persona. my mark cuban crazy white bitch persona comment was edited out. why my mark cuban crazy white bitch persona comment was edit out i have i have no idea. i will concede andrew and nate have the right to edit out my mark cuban crazy white bitch persona comment. they do not have to justify or give a reason why saying mark cuban has a crazy white bitch persona is not an appropriate topic of discussion. i would make it very clear that mark cuban has a crazy white bitch persona is my opinion only and does NOT reflect the thinking of andrew and nate.

Speaking of A.C.
I’m reading Simmons “The Book of Basketball”. Pretty fun read. It had a story that I remembered but didn’t realize it was A.C.
Several years back A.C. was playing for the Heat. He had a player option for $4.1 million but his agent forgot to fill out the paperwork in time. So A.C. becomes a free agent and can only get $1.5 million from the Spurs. Miami used the cap space to sign Lamar Odom. A.C.’s agent wound up paying him the difference.
Wow
I’d be pissed. Multi-millionaire or not, that’s a huge chunck of change to lose on account of some ill filed papers.

Great book!
I just finished the Pyramid … soaking it all in.
That is a crazy story about A.C. and I remembered it as I read it as well. If the Heat never sign Odom (due to A.C.’s agent not being an idiot), can they ever land Shaq from the Lakers? The “what-ifs” section of that book are awesome.

Melo
The only thing that bugs me is his failure to include Melo. He did say he saved room for him later, but he included Howard, Wade, Lebron and their careers aren’t complete either. Add in the fact that he included retired players who are clearly not as good as Melo like Reggie Miller who peaked at 22 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists, I just don’t like it.
Of course, that’s just me being a homer. Otherwise the book is great. I really like that fact that he wears his fandom on his sleeve and when he thinks someone is a jackass he calls them a jackass.
I guess his only real argument could be …
Howard – Finals Appearance
James – Finals Appearance
Miller – Finals Appearance
Wade – Ring.
I wasn’t surprised Melo was left out … but he can change that this season!

I was thinking the same
Until I saw T-Mac and Vince Carter in there.
It was turned in to the publisher prior to last years playoffs, so I think there is a good chance he’d make it after this year.
We’ll have to start a “book of basketball” post sometime. I’m about halfway through. I never would have guessed 700 pages until I opened it at christmas. I had other books to read first, so I just got to it.
Ya, I was doing some book review stuff over the summer ... sort of got off track.

I didn't have a problem with 'Melo
being left out of that book . . 18 months ago a lot of Denver fans were talking about trading him and no one was saying that about Howard, James or Wade even on their worst season. But . . I was irritated about the historical Celtic bias popping up . .I mean Tommy Heinhson?!? Playing on Russell’s team basically moved you 30 spots up the ladder.
And, while I think the old guys deserve credit, the fact that Elgin Baylor can work in the army full time, fly to games on weekend and put up a 28-20 stat line says something about the competition as well as the player. I think he undersold the 70’s on weak competition from expansion arguement, but significantly oversold the 50’s-60’s which certainly had similiar problem – the were a bunch of frat boys pretending to be pros.
