For the Birdman thing...
It’s plainly because we’ve been expecting more out of him now that he has a good contract. His stats are a bit lower, but it can be attributed to his knee. However, those knee issues are often chronic, which could pose a big problem in a couple years.

more birdman more better
that was the thought last season. the more minutes he plays the more productive he would be. with the 3 player rotation at center and power forward andersen plays 12 consecutive minutes when he subs for nene at the 8 minute mark of the the 1st quarter. out of the 3 players kmart is the only one that thrives. nene and chris would be better off having a 2 player rotation at center.

exactly with the 2 player rotation
Bird is an energy guy. Give him stretches and he’ll be brilliant. 12 consecutive minutes will not get the best board produciton out of him

Yeah...I think Bird is alright.
He’s getting like 2 more minutes a game. Rebounds are basically the same and he’s averaging about just over half a block less than last year. With him obviously being hurt and the NBA more aware that Birdman will swoop away with your shot attempt…I’m not mad at his production this year.

Chauncey
That Chauncey article on ESPN from last spring is almost the best thing ever.
Man would it ever be a great ending to the story to have him finally lead the Nuggets to a championship.

That would secure his place in Denver sports history
On the same level as Elway. That would be sick and well deserved for such a classy guy.

I like to re-read that article from time to time. Just a great piece.
Denver Stiffs.com: Defending the sovereignty of Nuggets Nation.
what the article does NOT say
when ray billups gets up at 3:30 am to go to work. he gets to the safeway distribution center at 4:30 am. he works in a refrigerated warehouse the size of a football field. the temperature is kept at a constant minus fifteen degrees fahrenheit.

I know you're the numbers guy and all
But negative fifteen degrees Fahrenheit? You just pulled that out of the air, didn’t you.

I imagine he meant celcius
Or he pulled it out of the air, lol
i meant what i said. my job there was to keep that warehouse at that exact temperature.

Who are you Mickey!
C’mon Rock, ya bum!
I can honestly say I’ve never met anyone that worked in a meat locker.

meat lockers are kept around
plus 30 degrees fahrenheit. that is a 55 degree temperature difference. rocky punching a side of beef at minus 15 would be like hitting a brick wall with your fist.

Ted Williams
In that case, I’ll just take the brick wall and skip the sub-zero warehouse.
Is Safeway in the business of cryogenic storage of the deceased rich and eccentric now? Contracted by the state to imprison T-1000? What gives with 15 below if meat lockers are that much warmer? Not the right forum for this, I know, but you’ve intrigued me…

minus 15
things like ice creme and other items you find in the freezer section of a grocery store. the few meat items that are stored are frozen turkeys for the holidays. they will stock pile those starting in the summer. it is cheaper to keep a dead turkey in deep freeze then to keep it alive and having to feed it. meat warehouses have product in bulk. another issue you have is freezer burn. freezing a product, thawing it and freezing it again damages the meat in more ways then one. there are strict federal standards established for meat products that include in house and outside inspections.

What about Jazz fans?
I have herd some of the most ridiculous comments from Jazz fans in the past couple of weeks. Their current streak which is good for second best behind Denver of course has Jazz fans not only saying their team is the best team in the NBA, yes Denver LA, Clev etc. But Jazz fans are predicting Utah to be ahead of Denver in the NW y March first. HAHAHA.
Sound like Portland fans
Mormons. I mean, morons. Sorry. We’re a small market team but for the most part our fans know their NBA, and don’t go around making outrageous proclamations like this. I’m glad I live where I do so I can get some oxygen to my brain!
Utah doesn't have any other pro sports teams
I think they might have a MLS team, but MLS is the minor league to the Premier League in Europe.
