Carmelo Anthony third in All-Star voting

NBA All-Star voting is underway and today early results were published.  So far, our very own Carmelo Anthony is sitting in 3rd place behind Kevin Durant and Pau Gasol for forwards in the West.  It's very annoying that Gasol is ahead of Melo in voting.   I'd love to see Melo in the All-Star game (wearing a Nuggets jersey, darn it!).

Come on Stiffs, let's get to voting and get Melo past the Spanish Llama!!!

He'll be a coaches vote

can’t say I disagree too much with KD and Gasol ahead of him so far, plus he may not be in a Nugs jersey during the event so I’m not overly inclined for him to make it.

Yeah I think he will lose a lot of votes from Nuggets fans that are mad that he is leaving.

you don't want to see him in the ASG?

That’s harsh…I don’t disagree about Gasol…I just can’t stand him….

And just want Melo ahead of him.

If he had just been traded I couldn't bear to see him in the ASG on another jersey

Would he have to play in the other teams jersey?

Isn’t the ASG in January?

No it's on the 20th of Feb

a day before my 21st! But yes he would represent whichever team he is on, remeber when Nugs traded for A.I? He was voted in as a 76er and appeared as a Nug.

What absolutely disgusts me is not where Melo is,

But where Nene is. Brendan Haywood has 20,000 more votes than Nene… are you fucking kidding me? Yao and Bynum havent played a fucking game! This is outrageous. Emeka in no way deserves to be above Nene. Marc Gasol is deserving and is being stiffed a bit on the voting too.

Text nene to 69622 every day until voting ends. Unlike Melo, he will probably be in a nugs uni in Feb. Vote online too. Seriously, vote Nene. He may get a coaches pick if we can get him close.

It's why fans need to stop having the right to vote or at least should be valued far less

they know nothing beyond those who always get talked about in the media. It’s the big name game for the most part.

If he keeps playing the way he has played then the coaches will put him in. Do not worry

I agree with you

But is Emeka Okafor a big name? Haywood? Nene is shooting 63%, that’s insane. Typically, guys with super high FG% are brute force, but not Nene, who is shooting 80% FT, he has all the finesse in the world. Gah, this is just stupid that he doesnt have 200,000 votes.

Agreed

wasn’t T mac one of the highest voted players last season? What a joke!

by JBnuggs on Dec 16, 2010 7:02 PM MST up reply actions

Agreed about Nene.....

Bynum just returned last week….pathetic…

Makes sense that Melo is third

Lebron is in 1st
Bosh is in 2nd

Melo would be 3rd…

Oh wait he’s still in the Western Conference?!

If Melo is in the East he would be ahead of Bosh. Bosh is not even close to starting right now.

What I don't get

is why Melvin Ely isn’t on the ballot. I just don’t get it =)

I know, it's bs

Ely is on the ballot, and dudes like Milsap arent’. Wtf?

As for Melo, I wonder if a lot of the votes he’s gettting are from N.Y. fans. I bet so. I’m still voting for him as long as he’s a Nugget because he deserves it, in fact I’ll probably still vote for him if he goes somewhere else because he still deserves it. I’m not letting my personal feelings get in the way of guys who neeed to be there.

Know when to fold em'.

STIFF LIST (as of 4/26 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. METTA WORLD PEACE

Metta resorted back to Ron Ron last Sunday by clubbing James Hardenwith an "inadvertent celebratory elbow", landing him a 7-game suspension. Apparently, changing his name didn't prevent NBA commissioner David Stern from overlooking Metta's past behavior problems.

2. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS

The 'Cats are on the verge of securing the worst winning percentage in NBA history. Given that the guy who runs the team - Michael Jordan - had previously drafted Kwame Brown and Adam Morrison, should this really be a shock?

3. OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER
The team that was supposedly built to overcome the lockout-shortened season managed to lose 7 of its last 14 games, ceding the Western Conference's 1-seed to the Spurs in the process. Their reward might be a first round matchup with defending champion Dallas.

4. BILLY HUNTER AND DEREK FISHER
With report after report coming out about NBPA union head Hunter's shady, nepotistic dealings and questions arising about Fisher's own role in dealing with NBA owners behind Hunter's back during the lockout, this off-the-court scandal could prove to be more exciting than the playoffs themselves!

5. STEVE NASH AND THE PHOENIX SUNS
The Suns are on this list for squandering the last few great seasons from Nash. Nash is on this list for his stupidly stubborn loyalty to a franchise as awful as the Suns.
