Lala happy to stay in Denver

For all of you LaLa haters out there (I am looking directly at you Andrew), here is an interesting article from NBA.com.

http://www.nba.com/2010/news/11/19/carmelo-anthony-wife.ap/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt2

Star-divide

I thought I would make this a fanpost because fanshots are rarely seen and the other side of the story deserves the same attention as Andrew's LaLa=Yoko foolishness.  Main points of this article include the fact that LaLa can work from anywhere due to a recent invention called the airplane that will actually carry people through the air from point A to point B at fast speeds!  Incredible!  Coupled with the fact that her husband makes 14 million a year makes this wonder a very possible means of transportation for her.

Another excellent point that she made that others would be wise to heed is that she's actually been flying back and forth to Los Angeles which is in the opposite direction of New York.

Yet ANOTHER point is that she just got done filming a movie in Michigan, which is also not New York.

In short, these items are further proof that it would behoove Andrew to retract his LaLa=Yoko foolishness (not that it would matter since the damage has been done) and realize, as LaLa states, that . "Wherever Melo is happy we'll make it work."  Instead of looking at LaLa as your scapegoat, again I suggest you turn your attention to the Front Office who has known that it needs a big man for 2+ years (since trading Camby) and has yet to do anything about it.

Write respectfully of your SB Nation community and yourself.

Of course she is going to say that

Is she going to say, “yes, I am trying to persuade Melo to leave Denver and go to New York.” No.

Perhaps you are correct.

but I still think it’s incredibly lame to pin all the blame on someone’s wife.

Wait a second!

You are using an ACTUAL quote from the ACTUAL person to ACTUALLY try and describe what might ACTUALLY motivate that person!?! No wonder you’ve only received two comments – this site is all about conjecture and rumors. Nobody wants to discuss facts here NugNugz! If you continue to bring ACTUAL quotes and evidence, you just might get press credentials and become a real journalist in which case you’ll have to leave this site…

Practice doesn't make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect.

I get ur sarcasm

But a lot of the time, actual quotes don’t mean anything because they are not going to tell the media the whole truth, and this is one of those times. Why would Lala tell the media she is pushing for Melo to go to NY if that is the case? She wouldn’t, so really her saying this doesn’t mean anything and we really have no idea if she is or isn’t happy to stay in Denver.

My sarcasm

was directed at the Feinstein Column referenced, not at your comment. I have several torches to carry on this site and the LaLa/Yoko thing is a BIG one.

Regardless, I absolutely agree with your points. None of Melo’s friends or family have any reason whatsoever to speak truthfully about what they probably know: Melo’s intentions. It would be the lowest kind of betrayal. I do, however, suspect that LaLa and others would hate for their credibility to be hurt by intentionally misleading anyone. Maybe it’s the optimist in me, but I choose to believe that any pseudo good news to come out of LaLa to be pretty good news. I’m not gonna believe much of anything until it comes out of Melo’s mouth though.

Practice doesn't make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect.

Man the Feinstein haters need to cram it

You sit here and dog on him constantly and yet you read everything he writes. Sounds like a whole lot of mid life crisis jealousy to me. Whether you like him or not, at least Andrew doesn’t post things on this site to blatantly call out individuals from behind his computer screen, he actually offers his opinions on nuggets related items. If you guys don’t like it then you can leave, obviously we won’t miss your “contributions”

It's very rare that I read this site for Andrew's opinion or "insight."

Dozens or more people contribute to this site and a lot of it is really good and timely information about the Nuggets that I can’t find anywhere else as quickly as it appears here. Usually a link from one of the many Stiffs, not necessarily Andrew, Nate or Jeffrey. I usually go to the opposition’s site to see what they are saying too. (No trolling once I figured out what that was and what a no-no it is.) If any other “news outlet” did it better than SB*Nation, trust me, I’d never return here based on some of the ridiculous conjecture being masqueraded as fact. In fairness, ESPN isn’t any better in that respect and maybe the old-school in me is resentful of it all. Who knows.

I know that you are a Nuggets fan Zachm219. So am I, so is NugNugz and so is Andrew. We don’t have to agree with each other, do we? We don’t have to love each other’s posts, do we? The rules are clearly stated in multiple places on the site. So what are you policing? What is your issue? Are you protecting Andrew or picking a fight (or both?) Does Andrew have to have a “quiet gallery” (not to mix metaphors) in order to get his point across or is he allowed detractors? Use your own “if you guys don’t like it” argument. If you don’t like my comments, pass them by or argue them. Since you did neither, I’ll address the only one with teeth that also happens to be the one that you didn’t fully think about: Andrew knows EXACTLY who I am and my attacks have been directed squarely at him. He could e-mail me, call me or even probably Google me and come pay a visit. I feel perfectly honest and up-front directing jabs at Andrew. If he took enough exception to what I write on this arm of this site that he is proprietor of, he could contact me or ban me, right? The only ones acting completely from “behind his computer screen” are the ones rushing to Andrew’s defense like you Zachm219. The anonymity doesn’t bother me, I just wonder why you feel the need to defend Andrew? And don’t say it’s the same reason I (try to) debate him. It’s not. I’ve written ad nauseum about my reasoning and why I feel it’s important.

Practice doesn't make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect.

Fair enough, and my retort

You specifically Big Mickey have called out Andrew in comments and used your comments to directly attack him. Thats my issue. We are all fans yes, yet too often this blog becomes a forum for childish criticisms and insults.

I'm 26

hardly a midlife crisis.

Do you follow everything anyone says blindly? Or do you sometimes question people?

Andrew does blatantly call out individuals from behind his computer screen – example given: LaLa as Yoko.

by NugNugz on Nov 22, 2010 6:27 AM MST up reply actions

I agree with you NugNugz

Although I think it is important to give props when deserved as well. It is Andrew’s blog and he could just ban someone for criticizing him but he doesn’t. That’s classy.

by MMGraves on Nov 22, 2010 7:45 AM MST up reply actions

Yeah it is classy that he allows freedom of expression

most of the time. I still get censored and warned for making one-line “your mom” jokes while Andrew headlines an article calling out someone’s wife. But that is besides the point.

The site is good, but it is not perfect. My argument is that people on this site need to see various sides of the story (with the same promotion/endorsement) and be allowed to form their OWN opinion. On this site there is too much “Lala = Yoko” type stuff and then 90% of the readers are like “yeah, you’re right she totally is!! This is spot on” and it’s like just because some dude wrote it on a conjecture or out of spite or whatever you’re going to believe it without even knowing the truth. I’m not suggesting the article that I cited is the truth, but we don’t know the truth so I think it needs to be put on the same level as Andrew’s piece. We need a little more objectivity around here and that does fall largely on the main writers of this site since us little people rarely get front-paged.

Pot and Kettle

You can’t chide Andrew for calling out individuals from behind his computer screen while doing the exact same thing to him. It’s called a logical fallacy young man

now i'm a young man

just earlier in this post i was having a mid-life crisis.

Don’t use your dialectics on me, I’m well aware of what I’m doing. But you ask me why I do it and I’m telling you why.

And I most certainly question people, including Andrew

Read the comments section here

Calling him an irresponsible journalist is certainly not blind following

Lala was at the Nuggets vs Nets game the other night sitting courtside.

She seemed to be having a good time and was chummy with quite a few Nets players.

by MMGraves on Nov 22, 2010 1:55 AM MST reply actions

they're both from NY so i guess they actually dont have ANY REASON TO GO THERE.

Listen, Melo would like to go NY if he can do so withoutb losing a truckload of cash. So I’d assume his people have advised him to, “keep his options open” (<— sound familiar) until after the new CBA is established. Plus we’ll see if he is singing a different tune after the NBA players association won’t budge on it’s labor requests and forces a lockout.

by InboundingLobPass on Nov 25, 2010 12:06 AM MST via mobile reply actions

This may be the best strategy for the Nuggets

A lockout, if nothing else, offers them more time to try to convince Melo Denver is the place to be.

STIFF LIST (as of 4/26 by Andrew Feinstein)

1. METTA WORLD PEACE

Metta resorted back to Ron Ron last Sunday by clubbing James Hardenwith an "inadvertent celebratory elbow", landing him a 7-game suspension. Apparently, changing his name didn't prevent NBA commissioner David Stern from overlooking Metta's past behavior problems.

2. CHARLOTTE BOBCATS

The 'Cats are on the verge of securing the worst winning percentage in NBA history. Given that the guy who runs the team - Michael Jordan - had previously drafted Kwame Brown and Adam Morrison, should this really be a shock?

3. OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER
The team that was supposedly built to overcome the lockout-shortened season managed to lose 7 of its last 14 games, ceding the Western Conference's 1-seed to the Spurs in the process. Their reward might be a first round matchup with defending champion Dallas.

4. BILLY HUNTER AND DEREK FISHER
With report after report coming out about NBPA union head Hunter's shady, nepotistic dealings and questions arising about Fisher's own role in dealing with NBA owners behind Hunter's back during the lockout, this off-the-court scandal could prove to be more exciting than the playoffs themselves!

5. STEVE NASH AND THE PHOENIX SUNS
The Suns are on this list for squandering the last few great seasons from Nash. Nash is on this list for his stupidly stubborn loyalty to a franchise as awful as the Suns.
