Billups back in All Star?
New Orleans All-Star point guard Chris Paul will undergo arthroscopic surgery for a cartilage tear in his left knee on Monday and could miss one to two months, sources close to Paul told Yahoo! Sports on Sunday night.
Paul injured the knee in the final moments of regulation in a loss to the Chicago Bulls on Friday.
Paul is expected to miss the All-Star Game because of the injury. Once the NBA confirms Paul’s unavailability, commissioner David Stern will appoint an alternate player to the Western Conference roster.
I can't think of any alternate point guard except our very own CB1! Too bad for CP3 but I'd prefer CB1 anyday!

Damn, that's crazy
I’m gonna try and trade for him in my fantasy keeper league since I am losing already. I’m pretty sure with the way Billups has been playing lately there’s no other person who would get that spot other than him. Yeah Chauncey!!!
CB1 should definitely get the nod
But with the league’s continual snubbing of deserving Nuggets, I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see Stern pick Chris Kaman, or Tyreke Evans, or maybe Marc Gasol.
billups would be better off not playing
he could use the rest. playing 40+ minutes in games lately the rest would be best.
pick up a calf every day pretty soon you will be picking up a cow
Agreed
The allstar game is a joke anyway

stern please choose another laker please
so GK can play him, kobe and gasol the whole all star game
That's actually a hilarious idea.
I would love to see Karl trot Kobe out for the entire game. That’s LMAO quality to the highest degree!
No way Billups doesnt get the nod.
He did say something about going away with his wife since he didnt make the team initially. So….whats he gonna do?!
His wife will understand...
looks like its Valentine’s Day in Dallas for the Billups family…lol
MELO!!!

Chauncey deserves it way more than any point guard anyway
I don’t like seeing a guy injured but maybe the injury to Paul will teach him some humility. Hate the dude but still tough to see a star with a big injury.
I'm obviously not a big Paul fan, but his injury stinks.
Hate to see good players go down and have it ruin a team’s season. I don’t see the Hornets hanging onto the 8th seed (where they are now at 26-21) with Paul missing extended time.

Jazz, Spurs, Blazers, Suns, Hornets, Thunder, Grizzlies and Rockets all sit within 3.5 games of each other for the 4-8 seeds.
Going to be a crazy ending to the season, but Hornets are now the long shot in the group to remain in the hunt.

No doubt
Plus I would have loved to see the Hornets in the first round again :)
Hmm
I’m not holding my breath on this one.
We’ll have to see who DStern decides to plop in that spot.

I hope he doesn't make it.
At this point, I would much rather give Smooth a week off to rest his legs, then have him play in a meaningless game. The only reason I wanted him to make it in the first place is that he deserves it and should get the props for being the Nugs real M.V.P. But since he wasn’t chosen in the first place, I really don’t want him to have to play as a injury replacement. Just take the days off Chauncey, and focus on winning your second ring! As good as Smooth has been, its almost insulting to have to get in because of injury.
Disagree on the insult
But I do think Billups should poop in their shake by declining the invite when the announce him as the replacement. It should go something like this: “If the coaches of this league don’t think I am a better ball player than every reserve they named then I don’t want to participate in the game. We as a team in Denver are fighting day in and day out against ESPN, David Stern, other teams, and the referees, and we will prove to you that the Denver Nuggets deserve the majority share of ESPN highlights when we beat the Cavs. We are going to take the title from all of those I just mentioned and force them to give us the recognition we deserve next year at the All-Star game and in the preseason polls. Thank you for your time but I am going to rest and get ready to fight all of you for Denver’s first championship.”
billups is a class act and would never poop in anybody shake
i on the other hand would be glad to…………….ect., ect., ect.

It’s always sweetest when you win on your own terms.
