Nugs still looking at Wally, Ime Udoka

New Tomasson

Look!

Flip going to Charlotte, and McCants signed a nonguaranteed deal with the Rockets. I'm really not big on Wally or Udoka, at this point in free agency that is whats left. Tomasson also points out the Nugs wanted Flip because they believe JR can play minutes at the 3 backing up Melo. I haven't heard of any other teams seriously looking at Wally so we may be getting closer to him finally signing. If that doesn't happen though I think we will be fine signing somebody out of training camp like White and exploring trade options once the season starts.

Wally should get a training camp invite

Let him earn a position on the team. If he don’t make the cut well thats bad luck for him but i think we should at least give him a chance. we should give invites to Wally,White,Carl, Braumbragh, Morris Almond and Udoka. Let those guys fight for the remaining spot or spots on this years team. and maybe the FO can make some trade happen with these guys once they make the team or something.

wally says

he has another offer for gauranteed money but will not disclose the team. he wants more than the minimum too. there is still a chance for a trade. the billups deal was not done until after the season started. wally could not fight his way out of a pillow fight with the girl scouts of america let alone the final spot on any nba roster. i would rather have nick fazekas.

OMG

Who why the hell are there 7 votes for Wally?!?! The dude is done, he never was much in the first place but didn’t anybody watch the Cavs play last year, specifically in the playoffs? The guy was terrible. He hurt the Cavs more than he helped them with his brick 3 point shooting. Udoka isn’t any spring chicken either but at least he can play defense.

Udoka sounds like a good defensive fill-in

but I would have liked to see us get Flip. We should know today who gets invites, since training camp starts tomorrow!

Udoka and Wally are almost exact opposites

Joey Graham is like a more youthful and athletic version of Udoka. BLAH

Joey Graham

Didn’t see that one coming — http://twitter.com/SpearsNBAYahoo

What do ppl think about his game. Avg 15-20min for Toronto, but not much of a 3pt shooter.

Portland just signed Udoka to a non-gauranteed contract...

Big D from Blog-A-Bull - "Pritchard is such a genius that teams just give him players for free."

Greg Oden - The only other rookie with more than 500 points, 400 rebounds, and 65 blocks in under 1400 minutes played. Since 1946

The STIFF LIST (as of 7/26 by Nate)

STIFF #1: COLORADO ROCKIES
The Rox have lost eight of their last 10, including six in a row. During the six-game losing streak Colorado has been outscored 33-13 ... and they might soon be the reason by buddy Rory has a massive heart-attack. But there are still 63 games to go and an upcoming eight-game homestand is hopefully just what the team, and Rory, needs to turn things around.

STIFF #2: MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES/DAVID KAHN
Replacing a 24 year-old point guard with a 29 year-old point guard is just a sound NBA move ... uh? Kahn handed Ramon Sessions a 4-year $16 million contract last offseason and just gave the same deal to Luke Ridnour this offseason. In order to make room for Ridnour, Kahn shipped Sessions and young big man Ryan Hollins off to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Delonte West (who is still facing weapons-possession charges). Maybe Ricky Rubio will get to the T-Wolves before Ridnour's contract expires, but don't count on it.

STIFF #3: TRACY MCGRADY
McGrady has been shopping his services this offseason and after getting nibbles from the Lakers, Clippers, and most recently the Bulls ... T-Mac is still without an employer. The 31 year-old guard, with a rich injury history, apparently is not ready to accept a reduced role. Will McGrady's stubborness land him on a lottery team where he'll try to prove he can still be "the man" or will he accept being a role player and wind up in Chicago gunning for that elusive title?

STIFF #4: DANNY AINGE
The Celtics did lose defensive ace Tony Allen to the Memphis Grizzlies, but re-signing Marquis Daniels to a one-year $2.5 million deal is a little crazy. Daniels should be thanking agent Mark Bartelstein ... maybe the rapper can sing his agent a song. (Daniels is in the yellow shirt in the video)

STIFF #5: NUGGETS SLEEPING ON SIZE
The Nuggets decided to bring back Anthony Carter on a one-year $1.3 million deal. Do the Nuggets really need a third point guard heading into training camp over another big body? Check out some names still on the free-agent market: Louis Amundson (yes he'll require more money), Fabricio Oberto, Kwame Brown, Anthony Tolliver, DJ Mbenga, Nathan Jawai, Josh Boone, Kyrylo Fesenko, and Joey Graham. Denver still has the bi-annual exception to spend ... so maybe there is still hope of grabbing somebody.
