James "Flight" White

According to a houston website James Flight White is being traded to denver for axel herevell's rights(never coming down anyways). James White is probably the best dunker in the league and this is his last chance to stick in the nba.... what better chance? he needed a chance to fastbreak and he might get that chance w us. Just youtube his dunks they r crazy. The only downside of this is we probably won't sign anyone else now because this brings us 13 players..... i would rather have him then Coby or Brumbaugh.... heres my source http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/6631489.html

i dunno..

i like the fact that he is extremly explosive and i hope that he does get a chance to stick in denver but does this mean that we are not going after Flip Murray?? beceause i hope we still do. in on the fence with this one..

Welllll...

I don’t know much about him, aside from the fact that he can dunk. How is his D? His 3pt % doesn’t wow me. Does he have any kind of bball IQ?

I just have a hard time of seeing why this is a good thing… I just think Coby would be such a good fit on this team, even if its on the practice squad. I’d also much rather see Murray or Szczerbiak than him.

I was at three of those summer league games that he played in and I don’t even remember him. Probably more a sign of my old age than his lack of talent, but just saying he definitely didn’t stand out above the crowd. Nuggets sent out an email confirming the trade around 3:00 this afternoon.

Pretty good Weems replacement . . .

For those of you worried that losing Sonny meant something, James White is a more than adequate substitute. We don’t know if he can/will play D. . outside shot improving but not yet NBA ready, but he can fly outta the gym . . and like height, you can’t coach those ups!

James White brings a Weems package...

Just bring in Brumbaugh and Coby Karl to fight for the 14th spot if Kroenke is willing to spend another bit of money for it (which he should)…

looks kinda skinny for 6'7" but

After a month or two with THE HESS I’m sure he can beast out like NeNe!

by InboundingLobPass on Sep 23, 2009 12:23 AM MDT reply actions

plus look at his FT%

he has like a 90% free throw percentage…. so he’s got that going for him!

Does he have a contract?

Either way this is a good addition to the training camp roster which he should be on. Dontaye Draper played with summer Nugs and tweeted that he is in Denver gearing up for training camp. That should indicate Karl and Brumbaugh are likely to have been invited as well. Either way the season is finally taking shape go Nugs

Let's just invite Wally to training camp

The other people need more competition as incentive to work harder…

Doesnt make much sense.

Dude is a dunking legend. Thats a given. But if this means he’s on the roster then its highly unlikely that the FO is gonna sign anybody else which is very unfortunate. They want a wing but there is a reason he’s only know for his dunking. Probably no Flip now and I’m still secretly hoping (not secret anymore) for McCants.

If nothing else

The Nuggets will have proer representation in the 2010 Dunk Contest!

by Joelsopinion on Sep 23, 2009 9:21 AM MDT reply actions

ok....

turns out his contract is non guaranteed according to the Denver Post…so extremely low risk with the the potential for a high reward. Makes more sense that way.

Hopefully, this is enough for Murray and Kurz to come here

I’d have both of the players mentioned above (not to mention possibly Coby Karl) over James White. Just because he can dunk doesn’t mean he’s a good baller. Just look at Gerald Green and Darvin Ham (or whatever the name of that guy in the ’90s who could power-dunk but do nothing else).

So White is like Darvin Ham...

Do we REALLY need him?

The STIFF LIST (as of 7/26 by Nate)

STIFF #1: COLORADO ROCKIES
The Rox have lost eight of their last 10, including six in a row. During the six-game losing streak Colorado has been outscored 33-13 ... and they might soon be the reason by buddy Rory has a massive heart-attack. But there are still 63 games to go and an upcoming eight-game homestand is hopefully just what the team, and Rory, needs to turn things around.

STIFF #2: MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES/DAVID KAHN
Replacing a 24 year-old point guard with a 29 year-old point guard is just a sound NBA move ... uh? Kahn handed Ramon Sessions a 4-year $16 million contract last offseason and just gave the same deal to Luke Ridnour this offseason. In order to make room for Ridnour, Kahn shipped Sessions and young big man Ryan Hollins off to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Delonte West (who is still facing weapons-possession charges). Maybe Ricky Rubio will get to the T-Wolves before Ridnour's contract expires, but don't count on it.

STIFF #3: TRACY MCGRADY
McGrady has been shopping his services this offseason and after getting nibbles from the Lakers, Clippers, and most recently the Bulls ... T-Mac is still without an employer. The 31 year-old guard, with a rich injury history, apparently is not ready to accept a reduced role. Will McGrady's stubborness land him on a lottery team where he'll try to prove he can still be "the man" or will he accept being a role player and wind up in Chicago gunning for that elusive title?

STIFF #4: DANNY AINGE
The Celtics did lose defensive ace Tony Allen to the Memphis Grizzlies, but re-signing Marquis Daniels to a one-year $2.5 million deal is a little crazy. Daniels should be thanking agent Mark Bartelstein ... maybe the rapper can sing his agent a song. (Daniels is in the yellow shirt in the video)

STIFF #5: NUGGETS SLEEPING ON SIZE
The Nuggets decided to bring back Anthony Carter on a one-year $1.3 million deal. Do the Nuggets really need a third point guard heading into training camp over another big body? Check out some names still on the free-agent market: Louis Amundson (yes he'll require more money), Fabricio Oberto, Kwame Brown, Anthony Tolliver, DJ Mbenga, Nathan Jawai, Josh Boone, Kyrylo Fesenko, and Joey Graham. Denver still has the bi-annual exception to spend ... so maybe there is still hope of grabbing somebody.
