What should denver do now?

Ok, so today denver traded steven hunter to the memphis grizzlies (its about time we unloaded his ludacrisly big contract.) i have hoped they would trade him eventually because he just got injurred way to much and it was really hurting the nugs with the size of his contract. With Hunter gone now that gives the nugs, as of now, 10 players under contract. we have freed up money now so what do we do with it? use it to offer LK more money so he will return? go after another free agent and if so who? sign AC back up? i think denver will probably want to take 13 players on the roster to start the season. so there is currently 3 roster spots to fill. what should denver do?? your thoughts??

i actually never thought of that

why dont we offer kleiza like 4 mil for like 1 year…. he would prob accept cuz all he was prob planning on returning from europe after the first year….. if we just offer a lil more money i think he would be pursuaded to stay…. also he should realize that if he goes to europe and gets really good no team will pay much

F that

Dude Kleiza didn’t earn a pay raise in my book

Kleiza

Can take the minimum for whatever that is and like it. I had no idea that he is an alcoholic. I’m stationed in WA right now but there must surely be some evidence back home in the papers or the bars to support these claims. I don’t really care if he stays or goes, but we should not be giving him more than hes worth at this point.

Fact is

Denver needs a true starting C now.

PG: Chauncey, Lawson, Carter (unsigned)
SG: J.R., Afflalo
C: Nene, Petro (unsigned)
PF: Kenyon, Birdman
SF: Carmelo, Balkman, Kleiza (unsigned)

So if we resign Carter, Kleiza, and Petro we’re at 12 players with room for 2 more. I think we have to use our exceptions to try and grab a center. I like Petro and I hope he’s resigned because while raw, he has some potential and is a true 7 footer, but we need a starter so we can shift Nene to PF.

Swats.

completely agree...

but u forgot that we have malik allen on a guaranteed contract so it would end up at 13…. but i completely agree that we need a starter at the C so nene could move to PF and then he could be an all star cuz whenever u watch him u could tell he gets frustrated w constantly covering centers and being the only one who really rebounds(except bird and occasionally melo)

UGH

Kleiza just signed on Olympiakos. I really don’t care. And BEefySwats, Petro plays like a PF even though he’s 7 feet. I still think we should have made an offer to Rasho Nesterovic when he was available. He is a mobile 7-footer who can play in the post. And he signed for the Raptors for the bi-annual exception, which we coulda given him too.

THE STIFF LIST (as of 3/8 by Andrew)

STIFF #1: K-MART'S LEFT KNEE
Best-case scenario, K-Mart misses another week or two with a sore knee.  Worst-case, he's done for the season with knee surgery.

STIFF #2: RON ARTEST
Nice hairdo.  'Nuff said.

STIFF #3: JOEL PRYZBILLA
The Blazers backup center re-injured his surgically repaired right knee after slipping in the shower.  Now we're just waiting for Greg Oden to slip on a banana peel.

STIFF #4: CAVALIERS FANS
Recently set the world record for the largest gathering of people wearing fleece blankets - i.e. Snuggies.  Really?!  This is worthy of a world record?!

STIFF #5: BOSTON CELTICS
Losing to the pathetic Nets and almost losing to the Wizards is one thing.  But to do so at home within a week of each other...now that's an art.  I think it's safe to assume the Celtics are going nowhere in this year's playoffs.
