Linas Kleiza is very close to signing a contract with Olympiacos despite his dream is to continue in NBA
Sportando
LK apparently very serious about signing with Olympiacos, with his agent saying they want to close the deal soon. His agent also adds that Kleiza wants to play for coach Giannakis of Olympiacos.

Nuggets would keep his rights
Even though losing LK hurts right now, with only 11 players signed it’s one of the better options for letting him walk. IT might be harder for Kleiza to get back in the NBA should he go over there, but he would remain restricted for the Nuggets. So they could match any offer from another team to bring him back over.
Bad timing though, considering the free agent market is pretty dried up and Denver has not shown any interest in replacements for LK.

Not to sound totally ignorant because Childress and some other guys singed in Europe last year ...
but I don’t totally buy it until he actually does it. Might still be a ploy to get the Nuggets to bite. ??

I see what you're saying
I’m kind of skeptical too, cause LK made $1.8mil last year making the $2.7m not too bad of a raise and he’ll still be a free agent next year. Personally, I think the best decision for him would be to take that and be unrestricted next summer. On the other hand, I don’t think he drew any interest from teams wanting to pay him over the $2.7m qualifying, so maybe he thinks the best chance at a payday now is signing a fat deal in Europe. Still, I think that could make it harder for him to come back to the NBA, look at Josh Childress. It’s hard to know now whether this report is BS or not, if they really quotes Kleiza or just made it up.
The only thing is, Olympiacos is chasing Nate Robinson and Iverson too. If they end up (likely) not getting either of them, then it’s not out of the question they would throw a boatload of money at Kleiza. Kind of easier for me to picture him going over there than Nate Rob or AI.
