Travis Outlaw?
Tis certain that Travis Outlaw seems to be the odd man out in Portland (according to an article I saw on HoopsHype). He's in a contract year and wants to prove his worth as opposed to battle for minutes. I don't know too much about the guy on the defensive end, but on the offensive end he can really feel it up. Though a SF, he can also play some shooting guard and power forward if necessary and has a tremendous leaping ability. I wonder if the Blazers would take on Kleiza's contract (which they wouldn't have to pay this season) or a trade exception for us to take Outlaw. He could provide that offensive punch off the bench.

he’s actually much more effective at the 4 than the 3 at this point in his career. Defense is suspect, rebounding isn’t good… but he can create his own shot and hit the corner three very well. A good scoring sixth man.
If Portland trades him, it won’t be for a trade exception. It will be for a veteran power forward or a future lottery pick, most likely.

Travis Outlaw would garner a Lottery Pick?
Geese, get me some of that weed.
First Round Pick
I can see him drawing a first round pick, but more of a late first round pick or what not. He isn’t that worth a lottery pick.
depends on the Lottery pick
he is worth like 5 Skitas

Travis Outlaw posted 13 and 5 on a relatively loaded Blazer team
The Blazers would want a future late-first rounder and for a backup PF. The reason he isn’t worth more is because, well, he’s a pretty good player, but he doesn’t really have a set position. He’s like 27 or 28, so he’s in his prime.

I’m saying that’s how they value him. If they don’t receive that type of compensation, then they won’t trade him.
He is a valuable player. 24 years old, supreme athletic ability, able to get his shot off on any defender. A perfect sixth man.
Why would they trade him for a late first rounder? They can just buy those.

Portland
wanted to add another PF and Outlaw is probably leaving in free agency anyhow. He is good, and his expiring contract has trade value. They will get something in return, but a lottery pick for a one year rental of Travis Outlaw I’m not so sure about.

Would love it but wont happen
I think he would be great off the bench for us and would provide us with the bench scoring that we really need. But I highly doubt the Blazers would deal within their division especially to the team they are trying to catch. Plus I don’t think we have the assets to pull off a trade like that, well we do but I doubt we would part with anyone of value for Outlaw. He would be great but I think we are looking at our roster as is right now plus Wally and possibly Petro. I don’t see us making a significant move until the season.
I like Outlaw
He has always impressed me with his game. I think he’s legit to start in the assosiation but he needs the chance. I would pass on him via trade but if we could get him through FA next year then sure.
Love Outlaw
I liken his game a bit to Stacey Augmon for some reason. Maybe not as good defensively, but he’s a scorer with extremely long arms and a good stroke from deep.
He would be 3X better than Kleiza was for us… no doubt.
Blazers would want a PF for Outlaw. I'd hate to see Birdman post up 8/7/3 with the Blazers
And they won’t want K-Mart at all. We’re not giving up Nene, and teh Blazers would rather keep Outlaw instead of someone like a re-signed Petro or Gray. They may take Pops, but only if we throw in a first-rounder and filler

REGUARDLESS-
I ca tell you wholeheartedly that unless its within a 3-4 team exchange, there is very little chance Pritchard would deal within his division. And this trade(unless you toss in Anderson)Is obvious fuel by a homers desire and not alot of common sense.ps-Travis doesnt play defense as badly as his lack of rebounding effort(look it up)stands out.But a within the division trade…
Andersen and a future 1st rounder for Outlaw?
That’d be awesome if there was another big to sign. I’m not too sure with making Petro and Malik our backup bigs, unless if Balkman bulks up and grows an inch or two.

Somebody needs to lay off the Haterade...
1. It’s the dog days of the offseason and I’m just trying to create a conversation that won’t revolve around one of our players having a DUI or jail time.
2. While I agree it’s unlikely that the Blazers trade within the division, you act as if it’s never been done. and yet we sent them Voshon Lenard just a few years ago in a 3 or 4 team deal that landed us Reggie Evans.
3. Fuck off.
