Brendan Wright and Anthony Morrow?

In my opinion these two players would be perfect additions to the Nugz, they are both good shooters and on rookie contracts. I also heard that Coach Nelson does not like either of them. So he could encourage their FO to trade them, i feel like GS would do it, they just traded Crawford for almost nothing, what makes us think they would not trade Wright and/or Morrow for either the rights to Linas Kleiza or the TPE and a 2nd rounder...

It would be similar to the deals we used to get JR, Balkman, and Afllalo....

These kind of under the radar moves can really help us

agree? disagree?

i also worked out a new trade idea, between Houston, Denver, and Golden State

here check it out:

I

love the idea of trading for both Brandan Wright and Anthony Morrow, BUT i doubt we could do it. I also heard that Wright in is Nellie’s dog house, but i think he is too young and has too much potential for the Warriors to trade him away for basically cap space, a shooting forwards rights, and a second rounder. Morrow is also very young and has a ton of potential. The only problem is we really couldn’t trade anything besides Kleiza’s rights and a draft pick since the Warriors already have a relatively low salary. I guess we could include the TPE if Golden State is getting ready for the, “Summer of Lebron” FA market.

Yes in a heart beat

Is this an idea or a rumor floating around?

by tgstar32 on Aug 17, 2009 4:48 PM MDT reply actions

idea...

sorry if i got your hopes up, it just seems like type of move our FO would make, due to our histroy of these kinda trades

Anthony Morrow

He could be the drop dead shooter that we need, the only thing is where does he fit in? He’s a shooting guard, and we have JR Smith at that position already, he can be the backup, but he’s sort of like a JR Smith, a good scorer/shooter. We have Affolo as our backup to play defense but if we want him to come in and help defend, where does that put Morrow?

by bodmiesta on Aug 17, 2009 4:52 PM MDT reply actions

Brandon Wright

I’m sure they have Anthony Randolph slotted in the power forward spot, they have Turiaf as their backup, but thats the only other big they have, I’m not sure they want to let him go. If they jump on the deal then we’re really lucky, it would be nice to have Wright as Martin’s backup, he’s young and could be a replacement in the future. I just don’t think dangling Kleiza will do it for them, especially if they are also short on bigs, but have plenty of guards (Monta Ellis, Stephen Curry, Speedy Claxton, Anthony Morrow, Kelenna Azubuike) and small forwards (Stephen Jackson, Corey Magette).

Trade

I don’t see much in Yi, and Jerome James is like Steven Hunter (a waste of a roster space). It seems to make sense for the other teams though, the Jazz get back a young energetic pf for getting rid Boozer, Nets get another young player that can play SG, or SF getting rid Yi that probably isn’t the direction the franchise wants to go, and of course the Bulls get Boozer. I just don’t think Yi fits in with the Nuggets, and Jerome James doesn’t do much.

by bodmiesta on Aug 17, 2009 5:23 PM MDT up reply actions

even though Yi isnt my fav player

i think his style would actually be good on our team, hes a legit 7 footer, young, relatively cheap, has a great outside game… thats all we need…. also ive seen recent pics of him from the china tournament and he looks like he added a lot of muscle…

Somewhat unrelated...

But how do you use trade exceptions in trade machine? Just wondering.

This would work

Ilike this trade…. only cuz it moves boooooooooozer out of the west

Robert Kurz

He was on the Warriors last season, and was solid when he was in the game. I believe he’s still a free agent (unrestricted), maybe the Nuggets should look into him.

by bodmiesta on Aug 17, 2009 5:13 PM MDT reply actions

Well...

I looked at the trade thing and it won’t work for Houston. Shane Battier is a better player than Kelenna Azubuike. Kelenna is better offensively, but Battier is a top-5 defender. Maybe if a future 1st rounder is included Houston would do that. Of couse, if we were offered that, we’d take it any way. Wright+Battier much, much better than Balkman

They need D right now

The Rockets just lost Artest who plays D,

no way do they give up Battier now…

Is that supposed to be his "Sam Cassell face"?

heeeeeeeeeere's the deal

the nugs require aaron gray. nene had a torn acl and cancer. kmart had a broken leg and 3 knee surgeries. birdman had a 2 year suspension for substance abuse and the posibility exists for a relapse. for no other reason is insurance. the final factor is the jumbo size players in the nba. when gray starts training with steve hess at altitude in the weight room in a matter of weeks he can be a physical force. when he works out with hall of famer coach dantley he will be a force on the court. dantley had to be one of the best posting up and or facing the basket in college or the nba. he may have been one of the best all around players ever. the problem the atlanta hawks had for years was too many of their player were clones of each other. they were 6’8"+ and had similar skills. the bulls are interested in gortat from miami but cannot trade for him until september. joakim noah played college ball at florida and would be cheaper at 2.5 million vs., gortat’s 5.7 for salary cap purposes. the majic would not want to lose gortat for nothing. noah plays faster than gortat. gortat in chicago would become the polish prince of that town. orlando would not need or want both gray and noah. chicago needs another player to complete the deal. gray is the most bang for the buck the nugs can get. there are all kinds of players denver can use but if they do not pass the salary cap smell test it will be a no go. i really like kmart, birdman and nene. if any one of those three have a season ending injury denver will have a hard time getting in the playoffs let alone surviving the first round.

Marc Gasol

As much as he’s more skilled than Deandre Jordan, I rather have Jordan because he would fit in with the style more as he is pretty athletic. Marc Gasol is slow (kinda fat), and doesn’t really seem built for the high scoring Nuggets style, plus he doesn’t seem to be good at interior defense. Al Thornton is pretty good, but where is he gonna play? Backup to Melo? lol

by bodmiesta on Aug 18, 2009 4:24 AM MDT up reply actions

Kenyon Martin

I wonder if there’s anyway we can trade him in reality. He’s making almost as much money as Lebron, Melo, Wade etc. even though he’s a solid player his contract is so big it’s probably one of the main reasons why the Nuggets can’t get to the next level (since Stan doesn’t want to pay that much luxury tax, thus we can’t sign better players to help the team)

Trade machine...

= waste of time. You can pull of some pretty ridiculous stuff with that thing.

The STIFF LIST (as of 7/26 by Nate)

STIFF #1: COLORADO ROCKIES
The Rox have lost eight of their last 10, including six in a row. During the six-game losing streak Colorado has been outscored 33-13 ... and they might soon be the reason by buddy Rory has a massive heart-attack. But there are still 63 games to go and an upcoming eight-game homestand is hopefully just what the team, and Rory, needs to turn things around.

STIFF #2: MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES/DAVID KAHN
Replacing a 24 year-old point guard with a 29 year-old point guard is just a sound NBA move ... uh? Kahn handed Ramon Sessions a 4-year $16 million contract last offseason and just gave the same deal to Luke Ridnour this offseason. In order to make room for Ridnour, Kahn shipped Sessions and young big man Ryan Hollins off to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Delonte West (who is still facing weapons-possession charges). Maybe Ricky Rubio will get to the T-Wolves before Ridnour's contract expires, but don't count on it.

STIFF #3: TRACY MCGRADY
McGrady has been shopping his services this offseason and after getting nibbles from the Lakers, Clippers, and most recently the Bulls ... T-Mac is still without an employer. The 31 year-old guard, with a rich injury history, apparently is not ready to accept a reduced role. Will McGrady's stubborness land him on a lottery team where he'll try to prove he can still be "the man" or will he accept being a role player and wind up in Chicago gunning for that elusive title?

STIFF #4: DANNY AINGE
The Celtics did lose defensive ace Tony Allen to the Memphis Grizzlies, but re-signing Marquis Daniels to a one-year $2.5 million deal is a little crazy. Daniels should be thanking agent Mark Bartelstein ... maybe the rapper can sing his agent a song. (Daniels is in the yellow shirt in the video)

STIFF #5: NUGGETS SLEEPING ON SIZE
The Nuggets decided to bring back Anthony Carter on a one-year $1.3 million deal. Do the Nuggets really need a third point guard heading into training camp over another big body? Check out some names still on the free-agent market: Louis Amundson (yes he'll require more money), Fabricio Oberto, Kwame Brown, Anthony Tolliver, DJ Mbenga, Nathan Jawai, Josh Boone, Kyrylo Fesenko, and Joey Graham. Denver still has the bi-annual exception to spend ... so maybe there is still hope of grabbing somebody.
