No moves this offseason
As sit here and think about the moves or shall i say lack there of this off-season, its starting to become apparent why we didn't make any moves. We don't need to. We have one of the best offenses in the league and our defense got much better last year than it has been in the past. If we make another year long commitment to getting better all around defense we will be there at the end of the year barring injuries. The Spurs, Mavericks, Blazers all made moves to catch up to us. Yes they did get some proven veterans, however it will take time to gel with a new organization/players. Why should the Nuggets mess up what worked so well last year. Granted the Lakers did add Ron Artest, which is an extreme kick in the balls to us, but another year for the Nuggets playing with the same teammates should benefit us greatly. As for the teams in the East restacking, well we have to get out of the West before we should really worry about that.

Denver Nuggets
I really don’t think we need that much retooling because our starting five is pretty decent. I just have more of an issue of not having enough bigs, and the fact that our bigs (outside of Nene maybe) can’t score; therefore we don’t really have much of a post game which ususally lead to high percentage/easy points. We also don’t have someone that can defend Bynum, Gasol, Duncan, Dirk etc. Nene is a bit smaller than the listed 6’11" and people like Steven Hunter and Malik Allen won’t do much. Birdman, while exciting, and can block shots isn’t much of a scorer, or post presence on offense, and on defense he seems to get outmuscled quited a bit (yes, i’m saying he’s a bit on the skinny side). I think we should bring Petro back, and trade/sign and trade Steven Hunter, Malik Allen, and Renaldo Balkman for Deandre Jordan and a contract (to make the deal work financially). Deandre Jordan is 7’0 255 lbs, has the size of Dwight Howard, can rebound decently (still raw) but can help us defend some of the bigs in the west. Johan Petro while also raw is about 7’0 250 lbs and is another big (not too skinny) body that can help us defend (bringing in Cedric Simmons as an athletic big wouldn’t hurt either…he’s around 6’10" check draftexpress.com if interested). Either way, this is just my take of what the team should do.
Catching up
We had a few mental lapses against LA, but for the most part we fought tooth and nail against them for the whole series, well excluding the debacle in game 6. I totally agree with getting another big man, I really just don’t seeing us adding one. We need Nene to step his game up and become a bigger low threat post option.
