Two Trade/Signing Ideas

The first.....

If the nuggets trade their trade exemption along with the expiring contracts of balkman and hunter to detroit for a Sign and Trade for rasheed wallace, it could work right?  cuz sheed wud want to play w chauncey again, joe dummars would prefer him to go west opposed to the cavs magic or orlando, if he came here we would be easy favorites for the number 1 record as long as we retain birdman too, but i dont see why we cant do both because in a S &T we give up some contracts to make space for Sheed. Maybe DET needs us to throw in kleiza just so they get some talent. It could happen we just need to have chauncey and melo to convince him to come and win a championship.

The second... (doesnt really help with our need for length)

Another idea is that a three team trade between Utah, Denver, and Detroit: DET sends rip to DEN, UTAH sends Boozer to DETROIT, and DEN sends the $9 mil exemption to UTAH... works for all teams Utah saves money, Denver gets a good defense at the 2 along with good offense familiar with chauncey and doesnt need a lot of shots, and eliminates the need for resigning jones,  While DET gets to borrow boozer and if they dont like him they just sign sumone else in 2010

I feel like Rip could help a lot in guarding kobe, hes tall and is a good veteran leader, problem is he is expensive.....

I know they both have to do with DET and i didnt do tht on purpose but.... they both help us

SHEEEEED

Man, i’m kinda bummed that the Nuggets haven’t made a spash yet. We need another big IMO.

I agree..

I think The Sheed deal could really push us to legit tital contenders moreso than we already are..not so excited about Rip Hamilton but the Sheed deal could make us solid and deep in all positions

Rasheed Wallace

Isn’t he pretty old already? He’s like 35 no?

by bodmiesta on Jul 2, 2009 9:54 PM MDT reply actions   0 recs

yep. 35.

13 points in 39 seconds. Enough said.

I really kinda hope brandon bass is available to be signed…or richard hendrix, and cj giles from our summer league team turns out good.

Trade

Who can we get back if u we trade away Kleiza, and Hunter?

by bodmiesta on Jul 4, 2009 9:48 PM MDT reply actions   0 recs

Jerryd Bayless maybe? Deandre Jordan? some center or power forward that can help our post game overall?

by bodmiesta on Jul 4, 2009 9:49 PM MDT reply actions   0 recs

Kleiza for Bayless??

Sounds like a decent deal… salaries wont match tho….

LK sign and trade

Was thinking about this too. Right now Cleveland, Toronto and Indiana have interest Kleiza. If we don’t want to match Nugs should look into a sign and trade. My ideas

S&T Kleiza to the Cavs for JJ Hickson (my favorite)

Kleiza and Hunter to the Pacers for Jeff Foster

Kleiza to the Raptors for a re-signed Anthony Parker (3 yr deal) – probably not worth it

Kleiza and Hunter to the Raptors for a re-signed Shawn Marion – he’s a bum without Nash and not worth the money he wants

Kleiza and Hunter to the Knicks for a re-signed David Lee – totally unrealistic but possible. Needs starter’s money and minutes but we can play Kenyon like Dahntay – for defense only.

The trade exception allow us to take more salary back in these trades (I think)

LK & Hunter

I don’t really like the value we would be getting back in either of those except for hickson (potential player)…all the other players seem to be on the wrong side of their career, except for david lee. I doubt New York would want to make that trade though.

well sheeds going to the celtics... there goes my idea lol, we all expected it though

mayb we could try and get big baby he would probably cost around $12 mil for 3 years

by hvino on Jul 5, 2009 7:54 PM MDT reply actions   0 recs

I'd almost rather have Brandon Bass if we're talking undersized power forwards.

Maybe even drive up the price on Mark Cuban … I actually think with Marcin Gortat heading to Dallas (most likely) that Bass may not be back in Dallas.

Not a bad idea but...

do you really think Sheed is as good as he used to be? Besides an embarassing performance with Detroit’s regular season and his complete inability to guard Z and Varejao in the playoffs, I seriously question if he can be a legit starting Center next season. I think the C’s may bring him off the bench which I think is ideal for him now. Sheed is a veteran who knows how to perform in the clutch, that is his strongest asset but his age and combustible personality make signing him a huge risk. Sorry but I just don’t see him being able to guard the new elite big men like Dwight Howard, Bynum, and Oden if he ever comes around. He went to the C’s to be a veteran role player, which is all you can really expect out of him now. He’s over the hill now and knows it, so he’ll go to a team with a real shot to win it all without him.

Besides, Chauncey and Ben Wallace were the real stars of that 2004 championship team. Back then, Ben Wallace was an unstoppable defensive force who allowed Sheed to be a scorer.

Wonder how the rotation will work in Boston ...

I’m guessing that signing Sheed has a lot to do with KG insurance than anything else. I’m not sold on KG being able to come back as the KG we know right away and it’ll be a luxury to have Sheed.

Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Rasheed Wallace, Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rando … pretty loaded with big names!

Wonder how, if KG is healthy, the rotation of KG, Perkins, and Wallace will go? A lot of minutes needed for those guys!

Seems like Rando may be gone though

Looks like Boston wants to deal him and not deal with a head case, having him and Sheed, would spell trouble (IMO).

that actually sounds like a pretty good idea, i think big baby is pretty underrated

I like the second idea though, but seems like you would be limiting JR to a bench player

2 Trade Ideas

1. Sign and trade Johan Petro, and Steven Hunter for Deandre Jordan and cash.
2. Sign and trade Linas Kleiza, and Renaldo Balkman for Maresse Speights.
This way our roster depth chart would look something like this
PG – Chauncey Billups Ty Lawson
SG – JR Smith Aaron Affolo
SF – Carmelo Anthony Sonny Weems
PF – Kenyon Martin Maresse Speights Richard Hendrix (sign from our summer league)
C – Nene Halario Chris Andersen Deandre Jordan (for development)

THE STIFF LIST (as of 3/8 by Andrew)

STIFF #1: K-MART'S LEFT KNEE
Best-case scenario, K-Mart misses another week or two with a sore knee.  Worst-case, he's done for the season with knee surgery.

STIFF #2: RON ARTEST
Nice hairdo.  'Nuff said.

STIFF #3: JOEL PRYZBILLA
The Blazers backup center re-injured his surgically repaired right knee after slipping in the shower.  Now we're just waiting for Greg Oden to slip on a banana peel.

STIFF #4: CAVALIERS FANS
Recently set the world record for the largest gathering of people wearing fleece blankets - i.e. Snuggies.  Really?!  This is worthy of a world record?!

STIFF #5: BOSTON CELTICS
Losing to the pathetic Nets and almost losing to the Wizards is one thing.  But to do so at home within a week of each other...now that's an art.  I think it's safe to assume the Celtics are going nowhere in this year's playoffs.
