i think that the nuggets should resign birdman, kleiza, and jones (if he doesnt ask for much) mayb AC but even if its for the vet min i have a feeling ty lawson wont play at all due to Karls tendencie to play him way tooo much....

AFter we look into dumping hunter which is easy cuz hes expiring...

then look at free agents i recommend:

at guard: anthony parker or marquis daniels or eddie house or shannon brown

at forward: grant hill and drew gooden or powe

at center look into zaza pachulia or magloire

Obviously some of these guys are if we can not retain our FA but we could do any combination, but we are going to at least need birdman w any combination of the forwards and guard

I personally think that if we keep birdman, sign grant hill, parker(or jones) and house we would be set i know it would be expensive  but worth it.

I wouldn’t mind a more athletic PF with a more consistent outside jumpshot that could maybe even replace KMart when his contract is up – names that come to mind: Hakim Warrick, Drew Gooden and Marvin Williams (not necessarily in that order)

Charlie Villenuava

It is said that the Bucks aren’t too interested in resigning him…does he fit the bill of an athletic pf?

by bodmiesta on Jun 30, 2009 1:22 PM MDT reply actions   0 recs

yeah in my opinion he does, but he might be a little harder to get – though I suppose I included Marvin Williams in my previous list and in my opinion, he’d be just as hard to get as Villanueva. The Nuggets, I think, need someone who is willing to step in as a reserve for at least the first year and take on little money and I think Warrick or Gooden might be more that guy than Villanueva or Williams…I wouldn’t mind being wrong though.

Hakim Warrick

Would be awesome. Played with Melo in college and crashes the boards hard. I think he’s a good fit to play behind Kenyon and run with the second unit. The Grizz probably don’t want to let go of him though

hakim warrick

i read some where on this site about someone saying sign hakim warrick… i thought he would fit well for a long term plan and if we can to try and sign him. well apparently the griz are trading q richardson for z randolph meaning they prob wont extend the offer to warrick… so denver can go and steal him

THE STIFF LIST (as of 11/20 by Andrew)

STIFF #1: THE NEW JERSEY NETS
The bad get worse.  Starting out 0-12, these Nets are doing a great imitation of the 1997-98, 11-win Nuggets.  I might have to pay someone to take my Nets tickets when they come to Pepsi Center.

STIFF #2: ALLEN IVERSON
I hate to kick one of my favorite players while he's down, but when even the Knicks won't sign you, you belong on the Stiff List.

STIFF #3: THE SAN ANTONIO SPURS
Richard Jefferson?  Antonio McDyess?  DeJuan Blair?  A healthy Manu Ginobili?  Big deal.  What idiot thought these guys would be neck-and-neck with the Lakers and way better than the Nuggets?  (Oh wait, that would be me.)

STIFF #4: TRACY MCGRADY
After years of suspect handling of his injuries making it virtually impossible for the Rockets to trade him, McGrady goes head-to-head with Rockets coach Rick Adelman demanding to know what his "future" with the organization is.  Tracy, take your league-high $23.2 million and shut the @#$% up.

STIFF #5: DAVID KAHN
Defiant and stubborn as ever, the Timberwolves "president" defended his offseason moves (you know, drafting two point guards before Brandon Jennings not named Brandon Jennings) by proclaiming that the Wolves will be active during next summer's free agent market.  I just pray that Wolves owner Glen Taylor never fires this guy so the Nuggets have four guaranteed wins each season.
