Best Logo Ever?
I was just admiring the Nuggies logo on my hat (the circular one with the pickaxes) and was wondering what people think about the various logos over the years... Is there a hands down favorite? Here are the logos through the years...
1967-1971
1971-1974
1974-1981
via blog.iso50.com
1981-1993
1993-2003
2003 - Today
The poll is for the best logo... But I also am wondering what is the hands down worst?

Who did I vote for?
I grew up with it and my earliest and fondest memories are of the Nuggies sportin’ the Rainbow Flava…
The worst? Hands down. No questions asked…. The Dark Logo of the late 1990’s… Those were awful uniforms and the logo didn’t help. It’s the color scheme I think… Or that the Nuggies were at their worst wearing those colors…. I do love the updated color scheme of today…
Also the yellow DN (with the mountain in the letters) was pretty bad ass… It wasn’t listed on the Nuggies site…. Here it is…

I seriously dig the DN logo.
Voted for Rainbow Flava. I love the powder blue and gold, but that one’s just classic.

I might be the only one...
But I love the old school look of the miner logo!!! And it seems like he is gonna dunk it and everything, I love it.
If not, my 2nd favorite is the Powder blue and gold, with the Rainbow buildings pretty close

Maxi Miner
That was and is my favorite. I hated the skyline/rainbow colored unis from the 80’s. They have to be one of the worst ever. They are as bad as the Broncos old vertically striped socks and Brown unis from 60-61.
somethings wrong, Trying to conquer these fears i thought were gone. And it's been so long, I'm dying to live in a world i don't belong

The dark logo of the 90s is where its at
The miner comes after that, and then I would put today’s blatant rip-off of UCLA (Real subtle, Kiki) as third.

Powder blue and gold
There are only so many color combos a team can have in their logo. If I remember correctly UCLA is a college, not a NBA team.
Pickax and roll!

Ehhh
If you’re going to rip off a college team’s color scheme, lets try not to pick one of the “name” teams. Rip off the Chanticleers of Coastal Carolina or something.

Yeah, powder blue and gold is the best, maybe tied with the Denver Rockets (orange and black - why is that not there?)

Although... I wonder...
What is the Ringsby System? It’s on the logo up there… Must have been important to have it on the logo….
Anyone know?

In the spring of 1967, Denver received a charter ABA franchise by default, when the original owners of the Kansas City franchise couldn’t get their act together. The league needed solid ownership for the franchise, which it eventually found in the form of Denver trucking executive Bill Ringsby. Ringsby was the owner of the Denver-based “Ringsby Rocket” Trucking System. Therefore, it made sense for the team to be nicknamed the “Rockets.” The team’s unique colors (orange and black) and logo (the “Ringsby System” logo, above) were borrowed directly from Ringsby’s trucks.

Check out this link to see what Denver’s uni’s looked like from 1971-1974…. May they never ever wear that color combination ever again…

I may be wrong here, but if I recall correctly...
The purple jerseys were originally blue. But after they got a washed a few times, they began to fade to purple, and the team just decided to go with it.

Here it is...
“Columbine Gold and — Lavender?”
In 1971, Hall-of-Fame coach Alex Hannum was hired to lead the Denver Rockets. Right off the bat, Hannum tried something new and different. He changed the team’s colors from orange and black to “Columbine blue and gold” — the colors of Colorado’s state flower.
The concept was a noble one. But under dim indoor lighting and after numerous washings, the uniforms became an embarrassing pale lavender. Surprisingly, the team continued to use the uniforms for two full seasons before they were completely redesigned.
Here’s what they looked like:
And they went with those colours like so:
Curiously familiar, hey?
I agree with Jezru when it comes to those uniforms. I feel a little ill just imagining Melo nailing one of his smooth jumpers in those colours. Throw them into the fire with the old mustard and brown Broncos unis!
