...ugh... 37 minutes...

until I can leave work…

I hope I can get there early to catch warmups!

It's not the Lakers I hate with every bone in my body, it's just the players and their fans.

Geez, I don’t know if I’ve actually recovered from the stress of game 1, yet. Well, anyway, go Nuggets!

I was extremely stressed by the last game

Nugs were sort of in control but never in the clear throughout. And then the end sucked, of course.

by Bob in Boulder on May 21, 2009 5:19 PM MDT up reply actions

Melo's put back that put 'em back up by 4?

I thought that was huge. Unfortunately, it was his last bucket of the game. Gotta keep feeding Melo, Nene and K-Mart inside tonight. They can and should absolutely destroy the Laker bigs.

MHH: Shagging Dater one contributor at a time.

by Bob in Boulder on May 21, 2009 5:32 PM MDT up reply actions

Yeah.

I agree. When Nene comes out seemingly angry with the ball, like he did last time, they should exploit that. Kenyon roughs them up on the defensive end, Nene on the offensive side, Birdman keeps them down with his energy, and Melo (I love the “Smilin’ Assassin” nickname, btw) smoothly shuts the door on them.

Bynum and Gasol are good, but overall, the Nugs have the players to handle them, and then some.

I’m not sure how Denver can come back after that game.. they had it locked up and they gave it away. I’m not sure how this team comes back from it mentally. Chauncey is the only one with a strong mind on the ball club

Yes I'm sure their spirit is totally crushed.

Expect them to just lay down on the floor and assume the fetal position. It’s amazing how you can equate a 2-point loss with a complete meltdown. I expect Pau felt the same way when a 6’6" guy on the Rockets pushed him around.

I'm pretty sure that in a year or so,

the truth will creep out of the woodwork, and there will be a situation similar to that of the Donaghy fiasco, and this game will come up.
Dahnte Jones with four fouls in the first 5:48? You gotta be shitting me.
I’m a Laker fan, who also really likes the Nuggets. So, I’m a little bit more biased towards the Lakers. However, even I can smell that something is up. Four ticktack fouls on Kobe’s defender.
I bet Stern is grinning in the corner of whatever room he is in right now, happily replaying the visuals of the refs blowing their whistles in his head.
He thinks nobody will catch on because its so early in the game.

Hahahaha

I’ll kill you, Stern. I’ll kill you.

Stern's got it rigged for Kobe V. LeBron

I wrote a short novela (sarcasm) a little above if you want to read my opinion on all this.
You can’t miss it, its an effin paragraph among short sentences.
By calling bitch fouls on Dahnte Jones, Melo will be forced to guard Kobe earlier than expected if the game gets close in the fourth quarter. That gives the Lakers a huge edge, since Melo has to waste his energy following Kobe around the floor.

And NOT just because I’m Blazer fan. He is a genuinely nice guy. He is smart, and has done a lot with the Mentor program. Here’s when I decided I don’t care how he pans out. He was at a restauraunt and getting hounded by autograph seekers. He signed and signed. He finally asked the waiter to have the line dispurse. He saw a mentally challenged kid in a wheel chair in the back and he said, “wait, I’ll do one more for that kid there.” He signed and visited with him. and while I wouldn’t call myself a diehard Nugget fan, I do want to see them win….but in any case I do somewhat agree with lalball here…the conspiracy theories do get a little overplayed. If he is who you are talking about….his other two fouls were very legit.

Kleiza

It’s not all LK’s fault. A healthy frontcourt this year cut into his minutes big time. He had a totally undefined role on this team that was constantly changing. Still, if he comes through in this series, all can be forgiven

I honestly think that we're blaming the wrong person for the officiating...

I think we should be looking at Tom Cruise is sitting courtside as the culprit…my guess is he’s placed some sort of Scientology voodoo spell on the refs and they are intimidated into making the calls as they have.

The STIFF LIST (as of 8/30 by Andrew)

STIFF #1: J.R. SMITH
Remember when I wrote that J.R.'s "nine lives may be up"? Well, that was last January. With Denver police looking closely at J.R. allegedly attacking former 14er Damien Lolar at a recent Pepsi Center shoot-around, it's clear that J.R. will never mature and it's time to move him.

STIFF #2: LEON ROSE AND WORLDWIDE WES
After commandeering LeBron's departure from Cleveland, Rose and Wes are allegedly working to move Melo out of Denver. Let's hope the Nuggets do what's best for Denver and not these two franchise-destroyers.

STIFF #3: RIC BUCHER
The man who once guaranteed that Kobe Bryant had played his last game in a Lakers uniform has been gravy-training on other reporters' Melo-related stories all summer long. Who does Bucher think he is, a sports blogger?

STIFF #4: MARCUS JORDAN
Like father, like son. Last week, His Airness's 19-year-old son tweeted about dropping $50k at the Aria casino in Las Vegas prompting an investigation.

STIFF #5: INDIANA PACERS
Brandon Rush has been suspended five games for violating the NBA's drug policy and 2010 draftee Lance Stephenson was recently arrested on assault charges. Larry Bird sure is doing a great job re-shaping the Pacers' already shoddy image.
