Western Conference Finals Schedule
The NBA released the WCFs schedule today. We now know the Nuggets will play Tuesday May 19th, but we still don't know if it'll be an away game in Los Angeles or a home contest against Houston.
By the way ... say goodbye to TNT ... ESPN/ABC (Disney!) will be our host for the duration.

Game 2 - Thursday, May 21, 7 p.m. (ESPN)
Game 3 - Saturday, May 23, 6:30 p.m. (ABC)
Game 4 - Monday, May 25, 7 p.m. (ESPN)

Are these times EST or MST?
Might want to indicate in the post so people don’t get confused, Nate. :)
I'm going to say you breezed over the line stating: "All times: Mountain Standard Time"
hahaha!

I hope its a home game against the rockets
All my boys have to do is close out LA in LA. (no small task) Then two teams with class and heart can play for the West. Wish us luck in game 7. (Mark Cuban’s a douche)
You don't need to hate on Cuban to get the Nuggets to root for the Rockets ... haha jokes!
Love Mutombo.
Met him when the Nuggets were down at the Air Force Academy for a pre-season scrimmage when I was a kid. Got his All-Star card autographed and shook his hand. His fingers reached my elbow … I was in awe of the guy.

I thoought it might help
Mutombo is a giant. I only met him once myself. But it was as an adult. I can only imagine how huge he must look like to a child. Being a rocket fan, i had to watch the other texas teams hog all the bball glory for a while. it’s nice that we are still in while they watch from home. i could get use to this. Here’s to the nuggets getting home court in the next round!

Torn up.
I can’t decide who I’d rather see on Tuesday.
Obviously home court advantage would be huge for the Nuggets if Houston beats LA. Without Yao I think we match up better against Houston (I would love to see Battier defending Melo).
But at the same time you have to beat “the best” to be the best. I’m not saying that the Lakers are playing better than Houston (Sunday decides), but the Lakers are undoubtedly the most talented team from top to bottom (with the exception of my Nuggs). Beating the Lakers would mean that there truly was no better team in the Western Conference.
However, there is one deciding factor more important than any of that: the fans. I would much rather have Houston’s fans posting semi-intelligent rants as opposed to the “Kobe4life, Kobe4MVP, Kobeismygaylover” trash that LA fans post everywhere. I mean, seriously, do you have to have a sub-80 IQ to be a Laker fan?
So I guess I’m rooting for Houston on Sunday. Go Rockets!
US Airways
I will be flying during Game 1 (sonofabitch). I land at 8:30 MDT. I’ll be flying on US Airways. Does anyone know if they have inflight TVs on the back of seats? I’m going to be killing myself if I miss the first game.
I'd be calling my airline for that one my man ...

Pepsi Center schedule
We better hope that Houston wins so we’ve got home court. Pepsi Center has Monday Night Raw on 5/25 and Andre Rieu on 5/26. Kind of hard to break those contracts with over 30,000 ticket holders between the two. Game 4 against Lakers wouldn’t be until 5/27 and then they’d play 5/27, 5/28* and 5/29* (*if necessary)
Announcers
One bad thing about this being the WCF – we probably won’t get the best announcers that ESPN has to offer. Of course, they didn’t exactly give us an “A” team when they showed Game 3 of the Houston series either. I didn’t much care for the lady that was doing the color commentary. She wasn’t bad, but I thought they could have done better. They just don’t like anyone other than the Lakers.
Don’t get me wrong – half of that tandem was A+. Dan Shulman is the best in the business when it comes to basketball, and he’s right behind Gary Thorne for baseball. I’m sure it will be Mike Tirico doing play-by-play, though, even though Shulman is way better. I will cry if Bill Walton is part of the team. ESPN has this crazy love affair with the guy that I just don’t understand. He’s terrible.
O well. It’s all worth it to see the Nuggets with the chance to win the conference.
With faith,
Go Nuggets, baby!

It seems like
an eternity until the first game of the conf. finals. Damn NBA scheduling!

I blame the Rockets
If they’d just lost Game 6, we’d be playing the Lakers tomorrow.
